Recurring dreams

I know dreams are just our way of working through stuff going on in life. I don't have recurring dreams anymore but when I was a child I dreamed it was night and I was in a nightgown and I was crossing the street in front of my house. I would trip and fall. I looked up and saw the headlights of a car coming towards me. I couldn't move, couldn't get up. I would try to scream but I couldn't scream. I would jolt awake covered in cold sweat. I had this dream frequently. I know now it's because I felt trapped and felt a lack of control over things that were happening to me back then.

In my dreams, I am receiving some kind of recognition & being handed a reward, certificate, trophy, etc. Everyone is clapping for me.

I must be very "stuck up" in my dreams! :goodvibes

I don't really have any recurring dreams as an adult, but as a child, I always had this dream that there were giant ABC's and I had to paint them. And I couldn't get past A, because it was too big and I was just painting and painting, and painting......and I would just cry and cry and cry because I couldn't finish. :confused3

Car flies off the overpass in Orlando (exit around Sea World).
Have had that numerous times.... Always scares me when I wake up!

I've had my share of nightmares, but my reccuring themed dreams are fun and entertaining!

I've just bought/moved to a new house and find a doorway - when entering the door, it lead to stairs or walkway to another whole furnished house that just keeps leading to new rooms. Once the house was connected to a shopping mall.

I have NO IDEA what it means, I don't even like to shop...:rotfl:

I have the exam one too. In my version of this, I show up to class, and my Prof says, "Take your pencils out for your exam" and I panic and realize I didn't prepare at all.

I also have a version in which I WANT to take the exam but can't find my class. I didn't realize that this dream was so common though. :scratchin

I also have dreams in which I'm in various stages of pregnancy, something sure to induce panic in this 39 yo. :rotfl:

I used to have the same reoccurring dream where my two dogs would run into the front yard along the side of the house and I would follow. As soon as I would round the corner, there would be some man standing there. Almost every time he would grab me, but the outcome each time was different. I always tried to scream, but I never could. I usually woke up before I left my house, but I always woke up in a cold sweat.

I have a dream all the time where I am trying to get my eyes open, and can't. It's like they are glued closed and won't budge.

I also dream that I am trying to get somewhere and end up running into this building and can't get to where I am supposed to be. I get trapped in the same room every time. Weird!

Oh, I have had the final exam dream so often! I too am searching for the class I have never attended to take the final. Any idea what this dream means?

I have been having the "final exam" dream since 1970!:confused3:rotfl2:

I dream that kind of dream at least once or twice a month. It's usually high school, and I realize that I've skipped class for the whole semester and now have to go take the final test. I'm in a panic. Funny thing is, I never skipped class when I really was in high school :confused3.

1) Tornadoes. Been having tornado dreams since I was a teenager.

2) I realize I haven't been attending classes or going to my job.

3) I've moved back to a city I hated living in, leaving behind my child and family.

When I was pregnant I had a re-occurring dream that I was on vacation and I suddenly remembered that I had left a pet monkey at home in a cage with no one to feed it or care for it.

Tornadoes are also my catastrophe dream. For my husband it is crashing airplanes. I sometimes have airplane dreams now, too.

Your monkey one is funny. I have similar pet-neglect recurring dream. Somehow I realize that the dog we had when I was growing up still lives in that backyard and we've just neglected him all these years :(.

I have a dream all the time where I am trying to get my eyes open, and can't. It's like they are glued closed and won't budge.

I'm so sorry, but this one made me :lmao:. That's a new one to me :).

I used to have recurring dreams with donald trump. Doing ordinary things, going shopping, driving, etc, and he would just be there.

Lately I have been having bloody and violent recurring dreams, dunno what they mean either.

My former house in Maumee, Ohio.

I'm at my cousin's house in the Cleveland area, and it seems like I'm there in real time.

My camera gets broken.

I've had the same recurring dream since I was a child.

White house, pond/river out back. Extended family is there (it might have been their house in the dream, not sure) Everyone is swimming and I get stuck in an inner tube and drown.

That's it. But the kicker? A little over 20 years ago, when hubby and I were dating, we're driving around in Rhode Island (Rt 6) and there's the SAME FRICKEN house with the pond/river behind it. Talk about giving me the chills. :scared1:

Til this day, I get all skeeved out when we drive by it.

i always have good dreams and have a recurring dream that I float above ground. Sometimes I am holding a balloon and sometimes I am able to just walk on air using a special technique that i can visualize but can't explain. i like that dream. i have had it 4 or 5 times and really enjoy it. i hope i have it again soon....tonight would be great!

I have the exam dream a lot...and ever since I broke up with my long-distance "boyfriend" after I started spending time with my husband (who was just my friend at the time but I knew it was headed somewhere), I have dreamt I ran into him somewhere and he begs me to meet him somewhere and we will try to make our relationship work. I adore my husband and had a very, very difficult relationship with this other guy...the main reason I broke up with him was that he was completely unreliable.

Im in a parking lot and cant figure out what cars mine (I tell myself before bed every night that my truck is the green one). I also have recuring dreams of being shot. That and a dream where I cant find my locker at school!

:rotfl:

During pregnancy I also had dreams about Justin Timberlake all the time. :smokin:

I actually woke up crying after a romantic dream during pregnancy with.........Carrot Top. I had it several times too. :scared1:

I keep having reoccurring dreams that take place at the small shopping centre in town, only it's expanded or different in some way.

And I keep dreaming I'm at Disney too!
