Our digital camera is over 5 years old, and not holding up well.
I'd like a digital camera that is not too slow b/w shots and that can take good pics in low-lighting.
Anyone have a new-ish digital camera that they love for using in the parks?
Thanks!
I have a Casio EXLIM 7.2 mp that I got a couple years ago - I think it's the Z75.
I wanted something that would be super small and have amazing battery life, take the SD format (seems to be the most interchangeable), and, most importantly, turn on quickly and have fast shot recovery with fast shutter for regular shots. The Casio fit that bill perfectly. It does a GREAT job capturing movement, has a bunch of presets that I actually use, and the fact that it takes the picture when you press the button is critical.
It does pretty well at night --- I've taken some decent shots of the castle at night, of fireworks (with my Gorillapod), and general very low light shots.
I've been able to take over 400 pictures between charges - amazing battery life. OH, and it has video with sound, with image stablization.
The one place it DOESN'T excel is the funny low light of a lamp-lit room at night. It's not bright enough to require a flash (washes everything out) and too dark to go without (grainy). The "soft" flash does a decent job, but it's the one place where I wish the camera did a little better. But, how many times am I really taking that shot? Not often.
If you are looking for a point-and-shoot with the real ability to turn it on, point it and shoot it, that you can carry in your purse/pocket for everyday use, and works great for the action of Disney, I'd definitely get a Casio.
