Record of the Year - What a Farce !!!!

Can you believe that Busted's Thunderbirds was voted Record of the Year last night -what a joke. To be honest the final Top 10 was pretty poor with Busted, McFly, Will Young and Brian McFadden to name a few. I think the best artist last night was probably Anastascia who I think was in the Top 3.
I know the show is mainly voted by teenagers, but I think my Record of the Year would've gone to Outkast - Hey Ya (it was in the charts for about 5 months), but it didn't even make the Top 10.

What would've been your Record of the Year ?

I agree, but having watched it for the past few years I have sort of come to expect that that would be the case

Ever since they started the show I can't remeber a year that has gone by when a record that actually deserved to be the winner won the title.

This year I thought there were a couple of records in contention, those being 'Hey Ya' and 'Call on Me'. Neither of which made the top 10

Out of the top 10 I would probably have gone for Anastacia or Maroon 5.

I am probably just showing my age though

Amber was pleased Busted won, but she is only 8

To be honest the choice was a bit pants! But of the appalling choices I would've gone for Scissor Sisters.

My record of the year would have been The Cure's new song, a return to form after several disappointing years.

I completely agree about it being a farce with Busted "oops we forgot to plug our guitars in" winning. Out of the top ten it should have been Scissor Sisters or Maroon 5 for sure. :thewave:

Will Young - poor??? Never !

His album is the second best selling of the year behind Dido and is an amazing talent.

I wouldnt have minded Anastacia winning though as I really like that song !

Anatasia, definately deserved to win,the song is lovely.
But all the rest was cacky, Will young's song is good too......

Hey Ya by Outkast was an outstanding record for me this year. Well at least Westlife didnt win it.

I agree quite ridulous.

DH caught the special Westlife performance (they had to be on the show somehow!) and said it was pants!

My r.o.y would probably be 'Hey Ya' too but I'd have accepted an Anastacia or Will Young win!

What a night for the people making money out of reality phone votes though - what with ROY, X-Factor, Strictly Come Dancing, IACGMOUH (did I miss any?)
