Recommendations - what park should we start at?

Our days at the park are Monday Aug 22 - Thursday Aug 25. We will be staying at the Disneyland Hotel and be purchasing park hoppers. We always start at Disneyland (nostalgic reasons) but wondering if we should start at California Adventure this time. I’m reading Monday’s have been crazy at Disneyland, and if they bring back early mornings on the same alternating schedule California Adventure was on a Monday.

I don't think starting at CA is ever a good way to start a trip unless you're just really into Pixar or Marvel. Maybe start at DLR to hit that nostalgia bone for the morning and then hop over to CA at 1pm if you feel DLR is getting too crazy. I would imagine around that time you'll be fine as schools are starting back around then. The Keys are all open around then so you'll have to contend with that but that's the case the entire time you're there.

I'm going to go against the grain of the above posters, and say my inclination is to always follow the EMH. I mean, you're paying for it by paying a premium for an on-site hotel, might as well take advantage.

Problem is, I don't think we can presume that the pre-pandemic EMH days will necessarily be what they are now.
