Has anyone driven up and stopped the night before their flight?

Would ideally like somewhere onsite to minimise all the waiting around for minibuses coming from miles away etc

Cheers!

Checkout SAS Raddisson. Following recommendation by other Dissers, that is where we have booked for next year. It is expensive at £199 for the night and 15 nights parking but it is within walking distance of the terminals.

I'd recommend the Radisson SAS too. Very nice and sooo convenient.

We stayed at the Radisson SAS too and enjoyed it. You can book a runway view too, which won over my husband - he went from never wanting to stay at any airport hotels to wanting to stay there every time! So, we have booked again. We could lie in bed with the curtains back and watch the planes!! Very quiet too!
You just leave the car in the car park, they take it away and have it back for you when you return. Just a few minutes walk to terminals 1 and 2.
Breakfast is expensive I believe, but we ate at the terminal.

Another vote for the Raddison, my husband loved it!!! He was like a big kid watching the planes taking off at the runway.

For an overnight stay, 7 nights carparking and breaksfast for us both it was £139.00 in May.
I thought it was great and would go back anytime!!

WE've been twice to Bewleys & found it suited us

Paid £109 for a family room & 15 days parking in May. Room great very clean& quiet, with 2 double beds includes bus to & from airport. They bring your car back to hotel for you from the car park.

Whilst not as near as Raddison, it's cheaper & within walking distance of terminals. We got back in June on alovely sunny day & walked back to hotel with luggage rather than wait for the bus.

Another vote for Bewleys - we'll be there in less than 5 weeks now :Pinkbounc

Just got back from DLRP and stayed overnight at the Crowne Plaza. We have stayed here on quite a few occasions and have found it to be very good on each occasion.

Room rate is around £60 but I am not sure what they are currently charging to include parking. We were only away for 6 days this time so found it cheaper to pre-book the short stay parking at T3.

Radisson would get my vote, pick up a trolley on reception and walk straight into terminal. Even better on the way back!!

Thanks everyone, decided to go for Bewleys after looking at the website. Would have loved to stop at the Radisson but decided we could spend the difference on a meal at Jiko's... the belly will always win!
