I'm one of those people who love to read through the guidebooks and plan and would like to get everyones opinion for any guidebooks I can add to my Christmas list this year:) I bought a few in 2006 for our first family Disney trip...The Passporter and the Unifficial Disney guide. One of these I really liked but can't remember which one. So and recommendations for updating mycollection would be great!!!!

I would definitely buy the newest edition of the Unofficial Guide to WDW. I my opinion, its the best guide book out there. Its the only one I buy. :)

I second the Unofficial Guide to Disney. I think it's the best one, especially the "Insider Tips" that are on most pages.

I really like the "Hassle-Free Walt Disney World Vacation" by Steven Barrett. It has touring plans for adults only, seniors, adults with small children, and adults with teens. It gives some great tips on times of day to visit certain attractions, etc. It was invaluable to us on our first trip! We simply photocopied the pages for each park and went from there.

Highly recommended!

just bought Mini Mickey "pocket sized unofficial guide" and Unofficial guide for grownups - both are very helpful ! I ordered mine on Chapters.ca and they were not expensive at all.

I just preordered the 2010 Passporter (it's out in time for Christmas for us Canucks). I loved it for our last trip so it's a must have for me! I also bought MouseJunkies...it was pretty good and had a few things I didn't know in it. Since you're in the "Dis-Know" though you'll notice a bit of out of date info but that didn't stop the book from being enjoyable.

I love the Unofficial Guide - I bought Passporters last year and didn't like it very much....

I like both The Unofficial Guide and Passporter. I esp like how they list all the restaurants with pricing guidelines, and ratings, and the very useful pockets for planning, and worksheets.
I love the Unofficial Guide for their touring plans, and their web site too, touringplans.com

I also like the unofficial guide - however, not much has changed since the 2009 version (or really even since the 2008 version for that matter). So if you can find last year's version, you can save yourself quite a few bucks!

Is this a condensed version of the Unofficial guide or is it just smaller to fit in the pocket?

I like both Passporter and the Unofficial Guide, but the Unofficial Guide would be my first choice. It's really the only guide book you need.

I'm with the previous posters for the most part. Unofficial Guide is still my favorite, and I'm planning to buy the 2010 one (I buy them every 5 years because not a whole lot changes between issues). I have the Passporter guide for DCL, and I will probably pick up the 2010 WDW edition once it's out too, just to have them on the same replacement schedule for 2015!
