I seem to always be looking through a lens, taking photo's all the time. I brought up the idea to my husband that we could use a camcorder. Especially while at the ball field, I get an occasional video with my camera. However most of the time it's photo's. So while I'm getting photo's my husband could shoot some video, if we had a camcorder. I don't really know much about camcorders, so I don't know where to start. Any one here have a camcorder you can recommend. Thanks

Just to confuse you further, you can get really good, optically stabilized full HD (1080 60p) video from some point and shoot cameras.
I have a 20x Sony HX30, and they have now have the 30x HX50
I would also check out the Panasonic ZS30

I think this has more detail than some broadcast video:

And, if I dial down the video to "just" 1080 60i, I can shoot 13mp stills at the same time:

Camcorders can have some advantages (because EU regulations usually result in cameras having a 29 minute at a time limit without getting a extra tarrif) and handling is different, but quality is to the point that most users don't need a better $600+ dedicated camcorder.

Thanks for the suggestion, I will have to go check that out. I really like the thought of all that zoom from your videos. You were able to get in pretty close to the action!
