I’ve been using Dollar store plastic spatulas and ladles for my non stick pans but think their must be safer to use ones out there.
Where did you get your heat safe utensils?

OXO makes silicone spatulas. My personal fav started as a camping tool and transferred into my kitchen as a standby. It has a spoon bowl on one side and almost flat base on the other side. Thing of beauty and not sure how I lived w/o it. Reasonably priced too.

ETA: GMTA @amuse-bouche , LOL.

Nylon simply isn't heat safe regardless of who makes/sells it. It's got to be used carefully. The thing about the dollar store ones (and I used to find sub $1 utensils at Target) is that they're cheap to replace when one does leave one next to the burner too long. I've even tried scraping off nylon from a plate. Didn't really come off except with heat.

Thank you to those who recommended Oxo brand spatulas/products. And also silicone products too.
Count me in on those products as well. The silicon stirrers and spatulas will last and are heat resistant up to very high temperatures.

I bought an Oxo oyster knife once. The first time I used it the blade (which was purposely a bent tip) it proceeded to bend back. Didn't think much of Oxo since then.

I have the Food Network silicon ones from Kohls and LOVE them. I've had them for years and they still look brand new.

I have an Oxo silicone spatula that is almost as old as my teenagers. It has even fallen into the garbage disposal while it was running and it's still holding strong. The garbage disposal barely scratched it. Those things are high quality! I bought another recently of a different brand and it is flimsy and not as good. I never use that one.

My kitchen is a combination of OXO and Kitchenaid utensils, and unknown bamboo spatulas/spoons. There's a few Rachel Ray products too that I've had for years that have held up well.
