recommendation for mattress please

I bought a Tempurpedic bed all the bells and whistles top of the line for $5000 in October. I bought my for medical reasons. I severe GERD and needed a bed where the head could be elevated. I also have some autoimmune disorders that leave me very fatigued at the end of the day. I can literally fall into bed knowing that memory foam will just wrap every part of my body and be healed in the morning. The feet and head go up and down and there are also 4 different massaging modes which have also been great. It will come with it own base and pedestals and is very difficult to move so make sure you have it where you want if for a long time. The men who set it up for me even reattached my old headboard for no charge. This bed will last me for the rest of the night. The memory foam is almost 2-3 inched thick. It is my palace since I do require a lot of sleep. This bed has also given me such quality of sleep and much more quality of life. Spend the big money. You will not regret it.

We're tempurpedic people. Have two of them in the house and wouldn't sleep on anything else.

I, too, would like information on new mattresses. Has anyone bought a foam mattress, specifically a Tempurpedic one?

I agonized for years, literally, which mattress to buy. I was too afraid of picking the wrong one to make a decision. This summer I finally decided I was going to buy the Temperpedic. LOVE at first night! Hey, I might trademark that! I expected it to take some time to get used to bu nope. Just felt right immediately.

We love our Serta Vera Wang collection. It has a built in pillowtop, but not the extra layer with seams on outside--about 16 inch depth so sheets to fit have been a bit of an issue. bought it in 2008, moved 3 times and it's in great shape. Firm, but soft.

I use a combo of their pillows--comfort gel, febreze and quilted. The quilted went flat within 2 weeks.

and my back is begging for a new bed...our latex bed is about 8 years old and been uncomfortable for about 2-3 years and now it's awful...

which bedinabox did you get tesslemez?

Hubby wants to get softsided waterbed....

it's difficult to decide.

Have you slept in a waterbed before?

We had a waterbed for over 25 years - when it died, we got a king Serta pillow top and I bought a 5" memory foam (I read that under 4" and you can't tell a difference)

Dh wants his waterbed back! So I believe this summer we're going back the waterbed route! Friends of ours has the Sleep Number - and like others they have had major problems with theirs...

DH wants to order from the waterbed Doctor, so not sure!

The March 2014 issue of Consumer Reports has a lengthy report on mattresses. I just got my issue in the mail the other day, but it might be on the newstands soon.

When our sleep number bed really needed replaced (after many years), my husband decided we should try the Temperpedic - of course, we laid on it in the store, but really that is hard to tell. They said money back guarantee for 30 days, threw in 2 "free" foam pillows. Well, that bed was like sleeping on a wood floor - I mean hard as a rock. One night was all I could take, I was in so much pain the next day, I said - its out of here. Well, there is a "restocking" fee they deduct from their refund AND they took out $150 for each "free" pillow - what a scam. Especially if you know you prefer a softer mattress - for the love of God, stay away from foam mattresses, name brand or otherwise. We bought another sleep number bed.

We ended up buying a king size Simmons Beauty Rest Comforpedic mattress last fall. It is softer than I used to prefer, but both my husband and I have gotten great sleep at night. We no longer wake up with sore necks, shoulders, legs, etc. We also purchased new pillows.

Yes our bed before the latex foam that we hate was a softsided waterbed. We liked it. I think it leaked and then we got the foam because they were new and all the rage.

I went to the store to test out beds...no waterbeds...but liked a Beautyrest Recharge and a King Koil Hybrid. Still not sure...we have taken the mattress off and put our aerobed on the frame for now. LOL.

Really need to find something....
