Recommendation for a group of 10 for one night?

We are taking a family trip and staying at BLT starting October 3. Original plans called for us to split the 13 hour drive into two days, but now everyone has agreed they want to drive the whole distance in one day. So, we will need a place to stay in the Disney area for Saturday, October 2nd for 7 adults and 3 kids. We would like to find the most reasonable (but safe) place to stay. I was thinking about a couple of 2 bedroom suites/villas perhaps? My impression is that most vacation homes won't rent for just one night - is that correct? Any recommendations would be most appreciated!

Hi, all great ideas. My two cents for October is to wait until September and do a 3-4 star Priceline Hotel for 4 rooms. You will be beat after that long trip and to try to sleep 11 people in a couple of suites could be a long night.
We have used Priceline many times for one nighters and it has always been a good experience. I would bet you could get four 3 star rooms for about 35-40 dollars a night and have more privacy and a good nights sleep. I would limit bids to areas 1, 4, and 12 and you will be very close to Disney.
Hotwire is also a good deal. If you try Hotwire, I have found that Priceline will be about 20% less espensive for the same hotels on a bid.

No matter what you choose, have a great time.

Thanks so much for the suggestions! We really like the look of Lake Eve, but the breakfast buffet and Buena Vista suites would be a great money saver also.
TednVon - what kind of resorts have you had success with via Priceline? I have only used Priceline once before in Orlando and ended up with the Radisson Worldgate - we were not very impressed. I agree that four rooms would be the ideal (a 13 hour drive is a lot of togetherness), but am a little wary after our last Priceline experience.

Hello, I have heard not so good things about that hotel also. Too bad, used to be a great place. It is now a 2.5 star so has been downgraded. By the way, the thread just above this on "Priceline Bids" has lot of good up to date bid info. If you choose Priceline go to that thread in September and see who is getting what hotels for the price.

Looks to me like a great list of hotels at 3.5 that are going for $45-50 for the summer. I would guess in October that $45 for a 3.5 star would be a good bid. $50 would be almost foolproof in my opinion. If not drop to a 3 star...3 star has never disappointed us. Best deal ever was our son's bid when he was in town for a golf tournament. 2 star, $18, Best Western Lakeside for a week. That is a great hotel right in the middle of action on 192 across from Formasa Gardens Blvd.

Let us know if other questions...good luck...and final thought...If Priceline and bidding bothers you, check out the Best Western Lakeside and see what they would do for you...It gets great reviews and they might deal a little for 4 rooms...
