Hi

Planning a trip next August. I know lots of people follow the: arrive early, return to hotel in afternoon, parks in evening plan, but as a family we are used to going to bed early and the late finish/early rise stuff impossible to stick to. Also you have to make two sets of journeys each day which takes up valuable time

Instead we would prefer: arrive early, have a relaxing TS lunch at noon, leave 4pm and spend evening back in hotel.

The question is, which attractions should we go fo after lunch? Anyone suggest one or two really cool attractions which are in air-conditioned theatres, with short queues and would be an easy way to end our day in each park?

Thanks

Most of the air conditioned places don't have short lines in the summer. But here are our favorites.

MK:Philharmagic
AK:Festival of the Lion King
MGM:One Man's Dream--this generally doesn't have a line and you can stay inside as long as you want
Epcot:Figment or Spacship Earth--these generally don't have lines either.

This thread reminded me of my grandpap. We used to always go with my grandparents when I was little and Hall of Presidents ALWAYS reminds me of him - he used to make us go in there every afternoon so he could take a nap. :rotfl:

I've been known to nap in the American Adventure once or twice. At Epcot the movie in France would be a good choice.

How about sitting in the lobby of Country Bear Jamboree? Sitting in CoP?

The Tomorrowland Transit Authority and the Carousel of Progress...my two favourites and they are both cool even on the hottest days!

We usually go to the President's show in MK for the AC-- and sometimes a nice nap! American Adventure in EPCOT also... Tomorrowland Transit Authority, Pirates of the Caribbean, Country Bear Jamboree & One Man's Dream are also great choices. Another option is to do some shopping, the stores always have AC!

I second Mickey's Philharmagic. Also at MGM there is Muppets 3D, which we really enjoy and the gem I had missed till the last trip was the animation show at MGM. I really enjoyed it and afterwards there is a room with cool interactive things to do. American Adventure is really good as well at Epcot. I would also say Universe of Energy at Epcot. It is kind of a ride, but you sit for a long time and it is cool inside. Have fun!

The best bet for August and air conditioning is at Epcot at the China pavilion where you see the film. You don't even have to see the film. The waiting area is so air conditioned and there's a small exhibit here. The waiting benches are marble and very cool. Pure, pure bliss. People were coming and going all the time.

Play It! at MGM is also a good one- the show runs about a half hour.

MK Mickeys Philharmagic or TTA
Epcot Ellen
MGM One Mans Dream and it's not a ride but I like eating lunch at the commisary - AC
AK - Lion King

We've noticed this spot too... it's just so quiet and calm all the time. The last time we were there they had a preview exhibit of Hong Kong DL. We also like the American Adventure waiting area at Epcot -- usually there are singers there to entertain the crowd. Epcot is probably the best park for AC... the pavilions are so big that you could dawdle quite a bit.
