hubby and i are taking a much needed vacation to disney this sept 5-11. I after having our first child back in march, am particularly looking forward to receiving a wonderful and relaxing massage. we are staying at the BCV(been there once before but have never used the spa). i was wondering if anyone out there can recommend a spa or a particular massage for me? I've never gotten one before so i want it to be a divine experience. :teeth:  :flower:

I recommend Saratoga I have had one at gradn Floridain and saratoga is way better

I treat myself to a massage at SSR every visit. It's heavenly. I love the robes they lend you, the jacuzzi in the locker room, the peaceful waiting room. So I highly recommend that one. I think DVC members get a better discount at SSR than at the GF, too.

You could find out all the spa has to offer if you go to relaxedyet.com

thanks for all the info. i checked out the website and it looks great. is there any particular massage anyone would recommend? or is that a personal preferrence question?

I love SSR spas, the people seem much nicer than at Gr Floridian. I am going with my two daughters at Christmas, while DH plays golf. It's my gift to them. The people there are very easy to get along with--I am claustrophobic, and can't do the wraps, and the mud proved to be a problem for me, too. However, they were very accommodating, and gave me a combination of stuff that didn't involve any wrapping or covering, except for towels, of course.

sounds heavenly. sorry you are claustrophobic. i think i would enjoy that. i need this vacation more than anything. i was going to go to greece for 2 months with my mother(we have a home there and much of our family is there) but with the baby being so young we decided it was best not to travel this year.

I had an excellent experience at SSR, and intend to go there again. It seemed that there were monthly "specials" for DVC members, so check into that. We happened to be staying at SSR and it was in the newsletter. I had the combo massage that was 1/2 Swedish (on my back) and 1/2 accupressure (or something like that) on my head, hands, and feet when I turned over. A wonderful forest scented oil was used that I loved. The therapist I had was very skilled, and I'm picky. Next time I might just have the Swedish with the scented oil ...... there's a variety of scents to choose from. Warning: they charge a lot more for using a scented oil. The whole spa has a comfortable and very professional look. The massage table was the most comfortable one I've ever used, and there was nice music. (For me, the atmosphere is a significant part of the massage experience.)

You can use the facilities for the entire day when you book a spa treatment. You'll be escorted downstairs to the locker room and given a robe. There's a jacuzzi and sauna that you might want to use before and/or after your massage. I just couldn't make myself get dressed and leave, so I relaxed in both for awhile after the massage and then took a shower. The locker room is very nice.

PS. FYI -- after donning the robe, you wait in a co-ed waiting room, so I was very glad I requested a larger size robe that was quite comfortable. Enjoy! You deserve it!

thanks for the 411 on the large towel kda! i will certainly request it.
i could just picture myself on that table you made me even more impatient!! :earboy2:
