Recommend a cooling pad for baby!

I have read reports of people using cooling pads tucked in a stroller or between them and baby in a carrier. What cooling pads do people use for this. We are taking an 8 week old who gets hot easily but I don't want anything that would chill her too much or get her wet. Preferably something that the cooling effect lasts a little while since it will be hours between when we would be at the hotel. Thanks!

I've never heard of a cooling pad for a baby. I'd ask the pediatrician this question. There may be a concern with a baby so young sitting on a cooling pad.

Take frequent breaks in air conditioning and be sure to keep baby well hydrated and out of direct sunlight. Each of the 4 parks has a baby care/first aid center. Those will come in handy for feeding/taking an air conditioned break.

They are just a Gel type cooling pad. We would have probably used one if we knew about it years ago, Bed Bath and other stores sell them. We just bought a fan that clipped onto the stroller bassinet and our DD was fine.

We used Frogg Toggs when DD was 15 months...just a little water from anywhere and it cools down again. It does not actually get the child wet (dry it off with a paper towel/napkin/something afterwards...the pad stays cool, and is no longer wet).

ETA: in the stroller I would not sit the child on it, but rather sit it on top of their legs...someplace where you can easily monitor how cool your child's skin is when it's in contact with the pad. When DD was 15 months, we used chip clips to attach the frogg togg across the front of the stroller so it was resting gently on DD's legs, but easy to monitor and remove as needed.

Thank you for your suggestions. We decided to go with a pad kind of like the one buzznina suggested. The one we chose is not a cold pad. Is just absorbs excess body heat. I didn't want anything cold or damp next to her skin. I also have a stroller fan. And fortunately is sounds like the weather won't be too scorching!

We used a breathing pad on our july trip for our baby like this one:

It does not cool, it allows for air to circulate underneath which really helps. It does the job very well, the main con is that it fell out of the stroller every time we folded it, which was pain.
