I thought I would share a tip - my new system to keep my recipes organized. I used to have a cluttered folder filled with recipes that I received from friends, from on-line cooking sites, and items I have cut out of magazines. I really wanted to get organized. Everytime I needed a recipe, I had to shuffle all the papers in my crowded folder - it wasted a lot of time. I always intended to sit down, and transcribe all my recipes onto cards for a recipe box, but the task seemed overwhelming and time consuming.
Then I had a brainstorm! I bought a photo album with magnetic pages. I sorted my recipes by category (fish, chicken, veggies, soups, desserts, etc.) and then arranged all the recipes on the pages of the album! It was a lot faster and easier than transfering it all to cards. It is also easy to add additional pages where ever I may need them. Plus, when I need a recipe, I can just pull the entire page from the 3 ring binder of the photo album, and the plastic coated page is protected from any drips, dribbles, splashes and sprays from any of my messy food preparations!
