Hi All,

Do you have to formally book a place for a reception or can you just make dinner reservations somewhere? I'm curious to see if it would be cheaper to just pay for everyone's dinner somewhere than to have a reception. :confused3 I'm having an intimate wedding so will not have more than 18.

Also, can someone please enlighten me about what an illuminations dessert party is and what is the cost? Everyone seems to have loved that and I have no idea what it is

Thanks everyone!

With an intimate wedding you dont actually hvae a reception as such. Many people have rented out a private room in one of the restaurants and just had the meal there. I know disney are very strict about what you can and cant do with an intimate "reception"

An illuminations party, is at one of several private locations around the lagoon in epcot, where you usually have a variety of desserts served but it can be arranged to have hot food served aswell or a bar.

The cost for mine is $200 rental fee - this is for the UK lower, $90 epcot host - you have to pay for 1 of these per 50 guests i believe, $75 set up fee and then a $19.50 minimum food and drink. You also have $12.50 per person Illuminations viewing fee per person but you can get round this by asking guests to use their tickets.

We were just going to go to 1900 Park Fayre for dinner after having our cake / champage reception then a few more photo's, as there will only be 6-8 of us - do you know if this will be allowed? I didn't know they were strict, never thought about it.

we are going to 1900 park fare after our intimate wedding, there will be about 10 of us and the kids will love the characters. :Pinkbounc :cheer2: :Pinkbounc

Just make sure to verify with your planner where you can and can not wear your wedding dress. Disney tries to keep brides seperate so that they feel it is their magical day.

We are also going to 1900 park faire!!!

A popular choice it seems. Iam also from England!!
There will be 9 of us including 4 children . We are getting married off site at Bahama bay at 12pm...having photos ..cake and chamagne....relax change clothes...and dinner for 9 at park faire at 4.30pm.
Finish up dinner about6pm..then into MK for parade and fireworks at 10pm.

Sounds exhausting i know!!

Hi...Iam pretty sure its OK to wear wedding dress in any of the resort hotels...its just the parks themselves that it is not allowed. :)

I just want to make sure that the rules haven't changed. If someone would double check and then post back that would be GREAT!
