Hi! I remember that the reception for gold and platinum CC members is normally on the first sea day, but I don't remember the time. I was planning to book Palo brunch for the first sea day on our upcoming 7 night Eastern, but I don't want it to overlap with the gold and platinum reception. Does anyone know the normal time? Or if it's possibly not the first sea day?

In the past, it has been relatively early about 10:00am. A Palo reservation after 11:00 would be fine. But, as the pp stated, you may not have one now.

They did the reception on our recent Westbound Panama Canal Cruise, It was done on the Sea Day between Cozumel and Cartagena, timed for early afternoon, which is fine, except they took EVERY SINGLE table and chairs from Deck 9 to accommodate the number of Gold/Platinum guests on board, leaving NO place for anyone Silver or First time cruisers to sit the rest of the afternoon until after the first dinner seating. i thought that was incredibly rude to the remaining guests on board. They should have planned to have additional tables and chairs on board (I know they have storage available below decks) to bring on board stacking chairs and folding tables to use for this event.

According to the new Castaway Club benefits that took effect this month. The reception is now only offered on cruises of 8 days or more.

Just received an email " We regularly evaluate the program and make updates from time to time. Guest feedback plays an important part in these decisions. Please be assured that our Offices and Crew enjoy meeting Castaway Club Guests and will continue to do so throughout each and every sailing."
So maybe it's back for all

Nope. Just means that the officers are walking around the ship and you can approach them at that time. Not that there is a reception for that contact.

I don't know how you know this, but just so you're aware and in the future not upset by something like this, they really don't, not for a stash of chairs and tables and definitely not on a repo cruise. On long cruises, especially ones with many sea days, like your PC cruise, what little extra space there is, is used to store trash and supplies to get you through your cruise...

Actually they removed trash more than once on the cruise in fact in Cartagena, we were delayed leaving port about an hour because a forklift unloading trash from the ship got to close to the edge of the pier and ended up falling between the ship and the pier and they had to get a tow truck in to haul it up so the ship could depart, I don't use any kind of file parking service so I can't link a picture of the debacle, my point I believe they can and do have space below decks, for storage of materials especially stacking chairs or folding tables, additionally, the ship only had 1875 passengers total on board many less than any regular cruise, so the supplies needed wouldn't require a massive amount of space, especially as I observed them taking on food at some of the ports.

I got that response from them as well. It just means that they will placate folks for as long as it takes for the disappointment to die down and carry on as they plan.:) Perhaps they will re-evaluate but it is most likely a done deal.

You believe whatever makes you happy :upsidedow

I mean, it sucks they used up all the table and chairs, not saying it isn't, but just a bit of reality:
Truth is, they remove trash in every port, regardless of itinerary.
But those with multiple sea days in a row (like the crossings) get a massive build up (to the point it's stored on the crew's main corridor, just delightful and fragrant).
Ships also carry enough supplies for twice the length of the cruise, so while there might be less people onboard, there's still a lot of supplies.

But like I said, you believe what you want.
What do I know, it's not like I lived below deck (taking up all that space...) for 4 PC and 2 TA crossings...

I can only guess the smell down there can get as ripe as the tunnel at WDW by the cafeteria. :)

I have to hold my breath going past/in the incinerator room on a good day...
They try to improve it, but make it worse (imo), by putting those industrial dryers down the i95 and attach and air freshener to it....they tried, I suppose...lol.

Oh my. I guess it is nice they made an attempt. Ugh.
