Recent Spirit Airlines Experience

Have you guys looked into the charge for changed a flight? YIKES! It's $ 100.00 a ticket. My hubby had to work so we booked a night flight but now not only is he off work, he's off the day before too! We looked into changing the flight to earlier so the kids won't be zonked but it would cost more then we paid for the tickets.

$100.00 change fee is actually on the low end as lots of other airlines are doing $150 and $175 change fees.

I have many horror stories about the last flight out, my daughter goes to school in Orlando so she travels to NJ alot, too and I cannot tell you how many times she has been stranded or delayed.

My best advice when flying Spirit, DON'T book the last flight of the night. There seems to be a pattern where the last flight is always delayed.

bumping this thread to add our recent experience. Last night, all of Spirit's last flights out of MCO were delayed.

My last experience with Spirit was a disaster! My DH flew down to Myrtle Beach to work for a couple of days. Flight down was fine. However, his flight home was cancelled. It ended up taking him 36 hours to get home (via Atlanta and Ft Lauderale). Spirit did not even offer any kind of food voucer. So much for a quick one hour flight that was not cheap!

This was not the last flight of the day. In fact, it was the very first one in the morning!
