I have an ADR next week for dinner at O'hana, and after reading all of the recent reviews, I am on the fence about whether I should cancel it or not. We have been to O'hana for breakfast and loved it, but we have never been for dinner. Has anyone been in the last couple of months who could fill me in on recent reviews?? Thanks!

Went the 13th, 5:00 ADR, it was better than it was in Oct! And fantastic service. DH said best meal at WDW. In October I felt the chicken and steak were slightly cold.
I was nervous taking DH for his first time, but loved it!
Definitely one of those you need to try for yourself and judge.

we went in May, our granddaughter and gsin law went in June as well as December and they loved it..it is all a matter of peoples likes and dislikes..

I feel like from reading reviews (and our own experience) this restaurant seems very hit or miss. I know when we went for breakfast it had nothing to do with likes or dislikes, the food was just plain bad. Extremely overcooked and dry. And I read a lot of similar issues with both breakfast and dinner. Yet there are a lot of people who obviously love it and think the food is great. But same goes for a lot of restaurants it seems.

I think if the menu appeals to you enough it's worth a shot.

We ate at Ohanna on Thursday night. We have been many times in the past and felt this was one of the better experiences. Here is what we loved:
  • Steak was perfectly cooked. We were surprised at how tender it was. Great flavor.
  • Chicken has a sauce. Think it was sweet and sour. Really outstanding.
  • Vegetables were the best we have had there before. Button mushrooms, water chestnuts, nice mix of bell peppers along with other veggies.
  • We had a food allergy at the table. The servers and the chef were outstanding. They reminded us as each dish and sauce came out so the offending item could be avoided. A separate salad was provided and a crazy flavorful dish of tofu, veggies and shrimp was specially made.
it was a great evening. We weren't rushed, the food was the best of the trip, and we ended up there during wishes :) We left discussing that it is still a favorite and we love the changes.

We love Ohana. We had a great experience in November with a party of 8 for dinner paying cash, and we have reservations for 2 next saturday night on the dining plan. I have noticed a slight change in service when you are on the dining plan, but that could also just be from having different servers each time. Once while on the dining plan, it felt like most of the food came out at once, so we felt a bit rushed, this could have also been due to the time of our reservation, our particular server or how there was a back-up and reservations were behind. Like any restaurant, there are a lot of factors that can affect your experience. We keep going back because the good always outweighs the bad.

I don't like O'hana breakfast (way too salty), but we enjoy dinner! DS8 and I ate there in August and we enjoyed it. My only complaint is they gave us way too much food (I know some people wouldn't complain about that). I just felt it was incredibly wasteful. It was only the two of us and they gave us enough food for at least 4 people.

We love Ohana! We really enjoy the food. All of it... Especially the dessert :) plus the Poly is amazing, it's a fun resort to walk around after your dinner!

Sorry I don't have a recent review but I can toss in some input about our last visit....We went last June and after I had heard about some not so great reviews I was nervous.

However, it was great! Just like it has been every time we have been there! I am SO glad they brought the salad back...it was delicious and I had no interest in the wraps at all anyways. The welcome bread was new to us, it was good, but we definitely didn't eat much of it as we did not want to fill up on it. I am talking with my hubbs as I write this and he said the only thing he didn't like was the tiger shrimp....no reason in particular he just didn't care for them. I can't remember not liking anything (I didn't eat the shrimp though. Not a fan of shrimp unless it's breaded).

I did have stomach issues afterwards but I believe that was due to the fact that it was our first big meal of the day. We always eat there our first night so I don't think my stomach was ready for so much food and that yummy Lapu Lapu! Next time I am going to try to eat a bit more as we travel and then perhaps take something before we eat.

Regardless, we are lifelong fans and as long as we can we will always go there! It's our first night tradition!

We love, love 'Ohana, and the dessert is scrumptious!!!! Have been going there every trip for many, many years - don't tire of it!
You will always have mixed reviews about 'every' restaurant - all have different tastes, expectations - must try it for yourself!!

We just got back from dinner an hour ago, is that recent enough? :) This is our 4th trip to Disney in 4 years, and first time we ever had dinner at Ohana. We LOVED it. Hubby says it was the best Disney meal he'd had in any of our 4 trips. Steak was cooked perfectly, and chicken was yummy. He had the shrimp, I didn't, and he seemed to like them. My 4 year old would only eat the bread and lo mein noodles, but that's typical for him! Had a tiny bit of trouble with the service (they forgot to bring us a wine and beer menu when we asked, and brought my youngest the wrong drink) but nothing that really put a negative spin on the meal. I highly recommend it!

We have never eaten there. We have gone to the lounge a number of times. The one observation is that it does seem chaotic. Also it appeared that the staff was less than magical during the whole seating cattle call. It was enough for us to cancel our plans to go there.

I have been an ohana fan and a board member reading dining reviews off and on for 15 years and the reviews have ALWAYS been hit or miss. If you go at a busy time and have an inattentive server it can make the experience less than stellar but I have always just come prepared to be patient and I have never had anything that ruined the experience. One can argue at those prices you shouldn't have to, but even at disney crap happens and people get overly busy. I've never had OUTRIGHT bad service, just some much better than others.

My guess is with the amount of meat that goes through this place eventually a not so tender and perfect piece will slip through. If you get something that you don't like or that doesn't seem good, push it aside and ask for more. It is all you care to eat. chances are the next skewer will be perfect as lots of people seem to get very good food here. Ditto if anything comes out not so fresh from the kitchen - just speak up and get it replaced. The food is usually very good there, if you get a fluke speak up and don't let it ruin your dinner.

I am looking forward to booking it on my next trip after a very long absence.
