Just wondering if anyone has recent experience of exchanging QS credits for snack credits? Is it 1 QS credit for 3 snack credits (as before), or has it definitely changed to 2 snack credits since the changes to the dining plan? I'm especially interested what has been your experience at the Flower & Garden food booths. Planning to do Food & Wine for the first time in October and wanted to exchange QS credits for snack credits to use at the booths, but not sure getting only 2 snack credits for a QS credit is a good deal.

It's 3 - just did it on Tuesday but that was at the resort. They said you have to use all your snack credits before you can exchange the QS.

Which resort were you at? I never knew you had to use all snack credits before exchanging QS to snacks.

I am positive we did not use all our snack credits before we exchanged qs meals for snacks. I know this because I used our last 2 snack credits at the confectionary as we were leaving MK to go home.

If this is the rule now, then it is new.

It's not a rule because there are NO RULES where this is concerned. This exchange has NEVER been an official policy with Disney; it's just something that has been allowed. So it is completely up to the CMs and/or the particular establishment how they do it.

My "rule" of thumb is to NOT expect to be able to do it, ask nicely when I want to do it, and be grateful no matter what they say.

We were at POR - they made us do 2 transactions. First one using all the snacks & then second one using the QS we had left. Came home with lots of Rice Krispie Mickey heads!! Lol!

Surely it must be a rule/policy or the computer/till wouldn't be programmed to let the cm do it?!

It has never been officially recognized by Disney. I don't know how the CMs know how to make it happen on the registers, but it has been standard practice at the resorts for at least 10 years. It started happening in the parks more consistently when they allowed the swap of the drink/dessert option. Now that exchange is officially gone, it isn't as common in the parks.

In December, 2015, I did it at the caramel shop in Germany at Epcot, and don't remember if I had used all my snack credits before asking them to exchange the QS for snack credits. They had no problem doing it. I was just curious if WDW had changed from giving you 3 credits vs. 2 credits since the 2017 dining plan has changed to no desserts at QS. I hope to be able to exchange 3 snack credits for a QS credit at the Food & Wine booths. I would re-think this if only given 2 snack credits instead of 3. Does anyone have experience doing this credit exchange actually at the booths, or does it have to be done at the resort?

I may be misunderstanding your question, but if you want to get 3 snacks for a QS at the F&W booths, you have to do it at the booth, and you have to get all 3 snacks from that one booth in one transaction. If they are still allowing it, you will have better luck if you only get those 3 items and don't try to add on a glass of wine or something. Let one person get the snacks you want and another person get the wine. When you combine them, they have a hard time doing it and may just tell you no.

The only time I exchanged QS for snack credits was at the caramel shop in Epcot. Though I've never done it, I've read that you can also have QS credits exchanged for snack credits at the concierge desk at your resort. I've never been to Food & Wine, so I didn't know if the booths would do this for you, or whether they now give you 2 vs. 3 snack credits for 1 QS credit since the dining plan changed this year. Anyone who has been to the Flower Festival booths have any experience trying to do the credit exchange recently?

That is false information; it cannot be done. It is only done at the point of sale.

in August we did this for breakfast at our resort each day we ate there, but we didn't have to use our snack credits first. My son just always wanted 3 things for breakfast and so they just converted his "breakfast QS" to allow him to get those 3 as a snack credit.

We went back in 2015, and some booths were able to do it and some said no way! Mexico didn't and was very rude about it, but we did it at Brazil no problem (and maybe Canada too, can't remember).

We had no problems last year at F&W using 1 QS for 3 items at several booths on multiple days during our 2 weeks trip (we tend it find the booths we like a visit them every Epcot day). We did New Zealand (I think, it was the one near Australia that sold the loaded mac n cheese), Italy, Morocco, Belgium, Canada (our favorite) and Greece. I don't think we did Mexico (although the Mexico CS does not allow you to sub a drink for a side/snack item like most other CS so maybe the whole area is strict on the rules). Some of them even asked if I wanted to use a QS or snacks when we got exactly 3 items. The rest I just said "and I'd like to use a QS credit, please". No problems. We also had no problem last spring at the BBQ F&G booth. I think it will still be "allowed," the question is will you get 2 or 3 items. I can't see Disney allowing 3 since it was supposed to be 1 for the entree, 1 for the drink and 1 for the dessert.

I'm just saying what happened at my resort - this week. I don't know about 2015 or august. I'm just telling you what happened to me a few days ago. It may have been different in 2015 or in august - it could be different tomorrow. All I'm saying is what happened in my situation. Take it for what it's worth but that was my experience.

I am confused. We plan to use snack credits at F&W. We are on the DDP and won't have a QS option. Was under the impression some of the booths sell certain food items labeled as "snacks."
Will we really have to use three snack credits for one item? I've been to F&W, but never purchased food with the dining plan ...
