I've read some reports that DHS has been opening earlier than 9AM on non EMH days. I'd love to hear from recent visitors re: what time you were able to enter the park.

They don't do the opening show anymore. I visited in May; they opened the gates about 5 min. prior to 9.

During Star Wars Weekends, they have been opening a bit earlier than the posted 8 am time (generally about 7:30), but this is the last weekend for that. Not sure about during the week though.

They have been soft-opening that park for a couple of months now. Depending on the day, you could be let in as much as 30 minutes earlier than advertised.

This past Monday, they opened at about 8:35 (on a 9 am scheduled opening). We got there about 8:15 and were 2nd in line at the far right turnstile.

I was interested in this myself. Good to know they are still doing it around 8:30.

Today was supposed to be 8:00, but opened at 7:30.
However, RnRC didn't open until after 8.

We were there last Thursday 6/7, and they opened about 8:40. We were quite a ways back in line at the turnstiles, and my DH had TSMM FPs in hand and I was in line for JTA by 8:50 or a couple minutes later (and as an FYI to anyone wondering how fast they fill up the shows, the first available for us was the 1:20 show, and the line was down the street when we walked out!).

In case anyone is wondering, the reason DHS was scheduled to open at 8AM
(and the actually gate-opening was so early -approx. 7:30) is because it was a Star Wars Weekend day.

It wouldn't be out-of-character for the non-Star Wars destination attractions in the park to not be running quite as early as the gates were opened.

They open the gates early primarily to relieve the log jam of extra SWW guests and for those guests to get into position early for the various Star Wars related happenings.

In Nov '11, Dec '11, Feb '12, April '12 and May/June '12 (yes, we go a lot!) - HS has always opened approx 30 minutes prior to posted opening time. We were there on June 1st - a Friday for Star wars weekend - and they opened at 7:20. We went to Toy Story Mania - went right through the stand by queue - went again through the queue - and then we rode twice without having to get off! (And my shoulders/arms were killing me ;))

We go a lot too and all I can say is "I am soooo jealous!" and I know I should say something sympathetic about your arms hurting, but all I can say is "I am sooo jealous!" :rotfl:

LOL - well - we got annual passes - and they are about to expire. So we had our "year of Disney" and I am still trying to figure out how to get more trips in - but my wallet has been hijacked!

Last week (weekday), they only opened the turnstiles about 10 minutes early.

On May 31st they opened at 8:35. By 8:55 we rode Toy Story and picked up FPs with a return time of 10:40. There were only a few people in the FP lines. It was wonderful.

On May 30th - EMH morning they opened gates exactly at 8:00 am. I was bummed by that!

On the following EMH morning they opened about 7:45 on june 6.

On both days TSMM was not ready for riding for about a half hour.
