Recent Crowds

Just got back from a day trip today and Magic Kingdom was not crowded at all. I was actually a little shocked when we went to go park. At 12:30pm when we got there the parking lot was only 1/4 full!

The longest standby line we waited in was Splash Mountain for 20 minutes! And that was at 3 in the afternoon!

It was great. As the PP said you walked through the ride line, rode it and repeat.

Great time to go!

We went Labor Day weekend and only had to get 2 fast passes the 3 days we were there. Those were for Soarin and EE. On Saturday, we went to DS and did TSM, ToT, RnRC, GMR, ST, the Muppet movie, ate lunch at Sci Fi and were headed to Epcot by 12:30, plus found time to stop in one of the stores and look around. We did get to DS at 7:50, for EMH, but the only real lines we saw were for TSM. Everything else was 10 min or the time it took you to walk from the entrance to the actual loading area of the ride. Once we got to Epcot it started pouring down rain, but we had a great time exploring the countries until about 4. We got a fp for Soarin before we went to dinner, but it was the only ride with a wait when we got back around 6:30.

Sunday, we went to MK and rode Peter Pan, HM, BTMRR, Splash and Jungle cruise. We then stopped and got a snack at the bakery and were at AK by 11:30. We got fp for EE, rode KRR, did the jungle trek, saw festival of lion king, ate lunch and rode EE. We were back at our room by 4:30. We napped, went to a late dinner at CG and did EMH at MK. There were no lines, expect for tomorrowland, but they were 20 min most.

Monday, we went back to Epcot and it was practically empty. We were only there a few hours, we had to get to the airport to come home. We were basically able to do everything we wanted to do at all 4 parks in 2 1/2 days. We would definitely come back this time of year again. It was hot and it rained some, but it wasn't anything that wasn't workable.

Just got back September 5th thru 12th.
The longest line we waited for was Toy Story Mania. 80 min wait. Get your fast passes first thing in morning because by lunch they are gone!!! Rides like Peter Pan, Pooh and other small kid attractions are also a long wait. We saw stand by lines up to 60 mins for those also. But those were on EMH days and parks were more crowded. We rearranged our park days and totally avoided EMH. It is NOT worth the crowds. We got more done at each park, less waiting times when we didn't do EMH.

Every ride was easy to get on...maybe 20 minutes waiting at the most.

Waiting for buses is the longest line you will wait for...:lmao:

Our friends arrived back last on Tuesday after two weeks and could not believe how quiet the parks were.

They said that even the CM's had been commenting on how quiet the parks were especially in light of the F & W festival been on.:confused3

Just hope things remain the same for our trip in three weeks :cool1:

Food & Wine Festival hasn't started yet. We were just at Epcot on Thursday. I believe the CM's I spoke to said it started the end of September. I noticed that Grand Floridian Cafe and BOMA weren't too busy at all on the nights that we were there.

I was amazed to be able to walk onto TSM (posted time 20 min wait) on Wednesday. The ride was great - I enjoyed it alot more than Buzz (which is my favorite). Didn't do TOT or RnR so can't comment on those wait times. Epcot most rides were walk ons Thurs afternoon (but that could have been because of the horrible rain storms).

Perfect time for us to visit. AKL didn't seem to packed and pool was practically empty every time we went.

Have a great vacation! :goodvibes

I think what the CM's were referring to was "free dining".:thumbsup2

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that crowds stay away for your trip.:wizard:

We are due to arrive at the world in just 3 weeks:cool1: and I am very interested to know how the crowds will turn once the F & W Fesitval starts?

The last time we was there was back in January 05 and I could not believe how quiet it was. We was there for 3 weeks and never queued once.:woohoo:

I'm not expecting anything anywhere near when we go back, but I have heard such conflicting reports about what to expect that I'm really curious to see how crowds development over the few weeks.

Will it be quite due the economy, or busy due to F & W Fesitval & Half Term/Breaks etc :confused3

Hi fairytale.
I believe the weekends are crowded at Epcot during the festival but weekdays are fine, except on EMH days.We are heading to WDW on 18th October for two weeks and im told the best days for Epcot at this time will be Mondays, Wednesdays or Thursdays.
Enjoy!

Just spoke with a friend who is down there now and she said the crowds have been low all week compared to last year!:thumbsup2

10-20 minute waits except for Toy Story Mania, which is pretty impossible to get FP for unless you are there at rope drop. The wait for it was 90 minutes yesterday. She also said DHS was the most crowded of the parks so far.

Thanks! Sounds great! :goodvibes

I agree with your friend. DHS was the most packed of all the parks in August, too. I think we'll skip it this time, since it's a short trip.

In August, we arrived at rope drop & waited in line upwards of 30 minutes just to get a FP to TSM. Standby was 60 minutes by 9:15am. Just ridiculous!

My friend said they didn't see the big deal about the ride. She said they thought it was just okay. I guess the newness of it is the big draw right now!

Yeah. It's a cute ride, but certainly not 90 minutes of waiting in line cute...

Epcot CM's told us on 9.17 that crowds were quiet but would steadily pick up on into the Food and Wine Festival. We noticed crowds more during Thursday-Sunday - weekend crowds I guess.

Also, lots of people in the parks but lines weren't all that long (except for the headliners: Soarin', Test Track, TSM, EE)

Toy Story Mania was cute but again, I won't wait in any line longer than 30 minutes... in fact anything posted longer than 20 minutes is a tough sell for me -- sorry, I'm a line waiting snob....

We did rope drop at DHS twice and managed TSM 3x. Walked-through Standby 2x and by the time we got out 25 minutes into the park opening, line was 40 minute wait. Used FP once.

I'm curious to see how they will be at the beginning to mid November. We will be there Nov. 7-16 and we have both Jersey week and Super Soap Weekend to deal with. Also, I saw that there are two big golf things going on. UGH! :scared1:
