I'm praying with you - we fly in less than 2 days - surprised really by reports of heavy crowds but they are the crowds last week and a lot of schools go back in the Southern states. We went the same time in 2006 and didn't think it so bad at all, so here's hoping.

Here is hoping right along with you. We leave early Saturday and are there all next week. I am hoping for quick lines, no heavy rains or all day rains, some sunshine and FUN!!!

At WDW right now. Yesterday (12th) we went to DHS and it was PACKED. We arrived 40 minutes prior to rope drop and the lines were already long at the entrance. FP's for TSM were gone by noon (we rode twice - at rope drop and then with a FP). After TSM, RRRC was about 30 minutes standby by 9:30. Left DHS by 3:00 to get to our hotel. That night, went to MK and crowds were heavy until Spectro ended at 9:30. Second Spectro at 11 was empty. Park remained somewhat crowded until closing.

Went to MK today. VERY crowded. We lucked out - got a Dream Fastpass so we skipped most lines. However, it was hard to move around in the parks and we would have left early without the FP.

Hopefully crowds will lessen - but being at the parks at opening really helps.

We were at DHS and MK yesterday. DHS was an evening EMH, so I figured it would be busy and it was. Have seen it much worse though.

Here is a pic from ST about 3:00 (We didn't get there until after 2:00pm).

And then as we were leaving about 5:00pm.

ST was a 30 minute wait. We got FP's for 2:50, but still had a 20 minute wait. While waiting on our FP time, went on Muppetvision 3D, which was a walk-on. After ST went to the HISTK playground, it was a madhouse, but it was our first time so, it may always be like that.

TSM was broken down and of course FP's were already gone. GMR was about a 10 minute wait. Thought about ST again, but it was a 35 minute wait on stand-by.

Headed over to MK from there after 5:00:

Crowds didn't look too bad. Went on SFRTH, then on to PoTC which was a 5 minute wait. Rode it twice. Splash Mountain had a 35 minute wait and FP's were for 9:30, so skipped it. Went to TSI, which it was 7:00 by this time. Then grabbed a quick bite to eat and got FP's for Buzz for 8:10. This part of the park was really packed at this time. Went on CoP and then Buzz, which even with FP's was a 20 minute wait. Spectromagic was getting ready to start, so no crowds. 10 minute wait for Speedway. As we walked through noticed Peter Pan still had a long line, Pooh had about 40 people in line. Sorry, didn't get wait times. HM was a walk on so rode it twice. Spectromagic was going on, so once we made it to Splash Mountain, it was only a 10 minute wait. Wishes had started when we got off. We left after that.

Next week might be less crowded. Not sure about the rest of the state, but the schools in Hillsborough County (Tampa) start on Monday. Hope everyone has a great time!

Just got back and the crowds were not to bad. Did rope drops at each park everyday, crowds were light and always got in two or three big rides at each park before the crowds picked up during mid day, took a break during that time and come back in the evening. Fastpass when you can and you will be fine. Didn't see many tour groups at all and the longest wait time I had for anything without a fastpass was 40 minutes (Rock and Roller Coaster at DHS).

Did you notice if there was a difference in crowds in the beggining of your trip as opposed to the end?

We were there Sunday Aug.3 thru Sat Aug 9, it was very crowded. The heat and humidity didn't help either! Go early to the park for popular rides for fast passes, they run out quickly. 1 morning we went early to Epcot for a fast pass to Soarin, we got in for 7:30- 8:30 at night.

hoping the crowds lessen a bit coming into this week...We arrive Monday but will utilize rope drop...FP's and best of all---TGM's best days ;)

We leave TOMORROW :cool1: and right now I am more worried about the WEATHER up here in the NE and I hope we can get there! We are flying Jet Blue and they tend to cancel more flight for weather problems. And I HATE to fly so I don't need this stress! :scared1:

Let's hope for a happy, magical (less crowded) week at the world! :thumbsup2

Jill

I hope you have a wonderful trip and the weather is nice. Just remember your going to the most magical place on earth! Have a good trip!

I am a bit concerned abouth the weather (tropical storm Fay) next week in Orlando. I live in South Florida and we are on watch because of the tropical storm that may turn into a hurricane and could affect South Florida or even the whole East coast of Florida (Orlando) sometime next week. It is too early to know yet. Keep yourself informed for those traveling to Disney next week. I am supposed to be arriving on Friday Aug. 22 and it should be gone by then. :confused3

We were in WDW form Aug 6th to Aug 13th. On the first week (Aug 6-9), the crowds were large but not too bad. On the 2nd week (Aug11-13th), it was much worse, We hit MK on a non EMH days at about 9:15 twice but the lines were much longer on the 2nd week. Similar in Ecpot. I don't know why.

I think crowd and weather being how it is in August, I will stick with April or Nov to go. They say Jan. is a good time to go to.
