Recent Crowds

I'm sure the Disney people aren't happy w/ some of these lower than expected crowd estimates but I leave next week so I sure am!!

We were there 6/4 through 6/8 and thought the crowds were very manageable, to my surprise and delight! We stayed at the Contemporary, and it was very quiet. Had no problem getting seats by the pool each afternoon. As for the parks, the longest we had to wait for any ride was during the P&PP, Space Mountain was a 30 minute wait but I did notice they only had one track running, so that probably had something to do with it. As another poster mentioned, Toy Story Mania did have longer waits anywhere from 60-90 minutes, which is to be expected with a brand new ride. Other than that, we did everything we wanted to do with no problem. :thumbsup2

I would expect crowds to start picking up shortly as more schools let out for summer vacation.

We're leaving Thursday and I have a feeling that's when the crowds are going to start to increase. School is out a lot of places up in the North-East. I've also tried to change our room and was told the resort is SOLD OUT.

I'm praying it's not nearly as bad as Thanksgiving was! That was our first and last holiday trip!

Surely the gas/food/economy financial situations are hendering the masses at WDW. :(

But im sure it will be jam packed 4th of july, thats when we are going. I called for ADRS and most everything is booked. We couldnt get AK's Tusker House for breakfast for saturday, or Le Cellier at Epcot.

But....in hindsight, If I can survive the crowds at Christmas, I can handle the crowd on the 4th. We were there about 6 years ago for the 4th and it was pretty crowded. :faint:

We will be arriving father's day. I hope the crowds will be manageale. We were there the 4th of July last year and boy was it crowded. I hope that it is as crowded. We'll see. :woohoo:

We're leaving a week from Sunday and I'm hoping that it will be less crowded during the week. I fully expect that the Sunday we get there will be packed :)

We just got back on Tuesday 6/10 and the crowds were non-existent. We never waited more than 5 minutes to ride anything. The longest wait we saw was listed for Soarin for 50 minutes midday Monday and I don;t know if the line was really that long or not. Sunday evening Peter Pan was 35 minutes standby, but we had ridden that in the morning, so it didn't effect us at all. There were congested areas through out the park, but it was mostly people just stopping to look around and then they would move on.

I can't imagine what the parks will look like starting today on, because most schools will be out soon if not already and with Fathers Day this weekend, it will be bad. I am glad we went when we did and I will stick with what works for me from now on.

We arrived on June 7th about 11:30am, We checked out on June 10th. This is the thirs time we have gone at this time and it has always been manageable.

I wish I knew what the crowds looked like 1-2 weeks ago that you are comparing to but we have hit headliner attractions first thing (as quickly as you can get there with a group of 15 and 5 strollers) and have waited around 20 minutes for each except for Winnie the Pooh. Having said that, with good use of fastpasses, I think the crowds are manageable.

Just returned.. we were there from June 8-13... Very manageable... the longest wait we saw was 40 mins for BTM and Splash M..but we utilized our fastpasses.... actually fast pass times for BTM were better than SM. Most wait times said 10-15 mins..but DH and I timed them and never waited w/ our kids for more than 8 mins... WE were amazed because it said the to expect a crowd size of 8... there was no way last week was an 8.... maybe a 5....

Hope that helps a little..

I hope it stays that way when I'm there July 7th. Maybe the gas prices are keeping people home;)
