We have cruised DCL 7 times but not over New Year's. We are on the 7 day that is the New Year's Eve cruise. Just exactly how cold is Castaway Cay in January? We are assuming the water will be cold, yes or no.

Question #2: Has DCL added back the Disney music they removed from the ships? Our last cruise was so odd, we did not have Disney music in the halls or even by the pools. It really did not feel like we were on a Disney ship. Very generic for us since we like the Disney music. On our first 5 DCL cruises we had Disney music but not this last one. We really don't want to listen to Frank Sinatra style music and that was what they had playing in the halls. Nothing against that style of music but it just does not go with Disney.

Thanks, Kathy and Dave

Sorry..no Disney Music on the 04/04/04 Wonder cruise..and yes it is odd

We were in CC the first week of January last year. CC was breezy/chilly/overcast and the water cool, but people were going in. If the air temp was a bit warmer I may have tried...but the air was chilly and I could not imagine getting in the water and then getting out into the air. We were told that all last winter the weather had been unusually cold in CC.

Here is a pic of my girls bundled up on CC in January.

Thank you. I did write DCL about the missing music. There was a thread about it with an address to write to DCL to give them your opinions. I was hoping they were listening to people because a lot of posters on this board were also missing the Disney Music. Oh well, maybe we will just go with another line in '05. It isn't like we haven't cruised DCL. I feel the quality of the product just isn't like what it use to be and yet the prices are going up.

We've done a total of 5 DCL cruises in Jan or Feb (10 total on DCL). One one of the winter cruises, CC was too cool to enjoy. It was a windy, overcast day. On the other 4, it was great.

We've cruised in January once and MJ stated already, it was breezy/chilly and overcast. Too cold for me to swim!

Can you post the address you wrote to about the missing music. We love the music in the hall and everytime we hear one of the paritcular songs it reminds us of our cruise. The cruise just wouldn't be the same without it.

We sailed in Feb once and Dec. twice and water at CC was around 82 degrees every time and temps were in the mid to upper 80's..sure a lot warmer than Chicago!!! LOL

I'm with Lampskies, January in the Caribbean/Bahamas is better than in New England. Very warm and could definitely go in the water. We are used to water on the coast of Maine = cold.

Yep.there is nothing like getting home and shoveling snow with sunburn!!! LOL.........or 11/20/04 Western has 2 stops at CC!!!!!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

I went in January, 2 years ago and it was so cold. I made an attempt to go into the water for a few minutes, but once you got use to the water temp and got out, the air was so cold you just had to wrap up and get back to the ship. I believe it usually isn't that cold.
