Receiving membership number by email?

Our deed was recorded for our SSR resale on Aug 26. Today I called member services about getting my membership number. She seemed to be willing to give it to me, but 1- I wasn't in the system yet and 2- because I'm from Canada she said they can't give numbers over the phone because we don't have the same social security numbers. That being said, she told me I would recieve all the information via email when it all went through. I have not read about that at all on these boards and I am wondering if anyone has indeed gotten an email with membership information on it?

Not true IMO, this would violate DVC's security policy. Maybe the security policy is different for Canada?

The membership number will arrive via snail mail, not email.As I recall, it takes 2- 3 weeks to arrive after the deed is recorded. Given that there was a U S Holiday this week, it may take a few days longer than usual. Hope it comes soon. I know it's hard to wait.

We received ours via email also Canadian. We called because we were closing on 2 very close together wanting to make sure they were linked and they said it was all there but didn't have an email on file for some reason. Gave them an email and poof all our info was emailed immediately following the call
