Receiving Membership Number after resale

Hi all!

I understand that your membership number is posted out to you after a resale purchase, does anybody know if you can get it through email or any other method? The post to the UK will take a long time to come through
 
I closed on March 24th and was able to call today to get my membership number. Once they gave me the number they took the time to set up my online account and the points were already loaded. Tonight we are planning our forst trip, cant wait.

That's great! Did you just call member services and explain the situation? I cant wait!
 
I'm in Australia so long post too. I got mine within a few weeks. Still had to call to get the club ID number and activation code so you may as well call since you will have to anyway.

My car magnets just turned up too which is exciting - and lucky as my address was missing my unit number which wasn't a problem with the membership number. Luckily I had some other mail the same day and the postman worked out which box to put it in from my name.

Congratulations. It's very exciting isn't it!
 

Yes, I called 800-800-9800, chose option 2 and was connected to an agent. I explained that I closed two weeks ago and was looking to book a fall trip so wanted to see if my membership account was opened. They were kind enough to check that it was and help me gain access to the online system. Very easy process,
 
Sean91-- have you received your membership number information yet? I'm just wondering on timeline or if you called in for it. We closed the 3rd, deed recorded the 4th and I'm wondering on when I would possibly be able to call in for our info or if I should just wait for postal mail.

We closed on the 30th and deed recorded on the 31st.

No sign as of yet, I called yesterday and the rather snarky woman that took my call said I would probably be looking at "atleast" a 4-6 week wait after closing. I'm hoping she was exaggerating lol
 
Well boo! When I asked my resale agent about calling in I was informed that Disney had told them it was NPI-- non public info and they wouldn't be giving it over the phone. I was hoping people were still getting theirs.

Thats not true, I called in last week and was able to get my membership set up, 2 weeks after closing.

I believe you. I'm just reiterating what my broker said. I actually called today and spoke to someone extremely nice. She told me they have it but it had not transferred but to call back next Friday and it should all be completed. I will be patient and wait :).
 
Just to give an update, I called and got through to somebody helpful who asked for my contract number, Whilst trying to find it I unfortunately got cut off. I called again and got through to somebody a lot less helpful who just didn't want to help and said it would likely be another 4 week wait until we could get access. I called up again and got through to somebody helpful who just took my name and gave me the details I needed. Currently logged in and planning :D if you get through to somebody who finds out you bought via resale then doesn't want to help, just try again. Unfortunately it seems common.

That's awesome that you have your info now. I see it's been exactly 2 weeks. I was honestly debating on calling again today but she told me the other day they didn't receive our contract until the 5th so I don't want to push my luck!

It could be worth a try, It only took about 3 minutes for her to get our information. All our points are loaded in etc. It's so cool being able to play around with the availability tool... So many nights, so little points.

I got access in 5 days after closing. You have to get through to the correct department.unfortunately I can't remember which numbers I picked but I've a feeling it was 3 then 2 or 2 then 3.

Glad to hear that you finally got through, I guess it certainly is luck of the draw when you call in as a resale owner. Anyway, enjoy planning your first trip (ours is in November)

I went through to member administration then the CM had to put me through to somebody else in administration to get my membership number. If you get through to the right person I'm fairly confident that it actually takes significantly less time then they say to set us up. I am still a little in love with the CM that helped me.
 
I wanted to add another data point. My contract closed on 3/29, deed recorded on 3/31, and I received my membership letter in the mail today (4/15).
 
Received our member number today by calling in :). I did end up calling last Friday and they pulled mine to be done today. We closed April 5. They did say the points would probably not be in there, but they were. Already booked first trip. I had all great experiences calling Member Services/Administration. Not once did I get a rude CM which was awesome!
