Is there anywhere else we could get a better deal? We received the same exact quote from Disney (through their website), Dreams Unlimited, and Small World Vacations.

If there is no where else, who should we book through? We definitely want the resort to know that this is for our honeymoon as well.

If you suggest disney, should we book through the website, or over the phone?

As I understand you will get the same rate no mater what avenue you take. Where the rates will differ is through discount codes. You can sometimes get General Public and Annual Passholder discounts. Also sometimes you can get a discount through AAA if you have a current membership with them. AAA rates can be booked with AAA or Disney CRO.

If you book with CRO ask them to note on your reservation that you are on your Honeymoon. If you book through someone esle then you can call CRO and have them add the note then. I'm pretty sure they can pull up a reservation that was booked by a travel agent or what not.

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding and Good Luck finding the resort and rate that is perfect for you :)

We joined AAA so they we could book through them and get the dining plan. (If you just use your AAA discount and book through WDW it is a room only ressie and not a package, so dinign isn't available.) We got a great discount on the room.

I am using DU this time and am very happy. The nice thing about the TA is that they will make your dining reservations for you also and keep an eye out for any discoutns that might become available.

Congratulations on your wedding!!

If you book directly through Disney and you are going during a time that there isn't a discount yet they will not automatically convert your reservation to the discount. You have to call and be on top of it. You also have to take care of all your own advance dining reservations. Make multiple phone calls anytime you have a question, etc

Going through a travel agency
Most will convert your reservation to the discounted rate once available without you doing anything
Most will offer to help you make the dining reservations
If you have any questions you can just email or call your agent

I like Small World because the agents give you a toll free number where you can call them. I mostly use email but having that option especially if I am not near a computer is great.

Whomever you choose, have a great time

I just noticed at the end of your post 10.2.05. I assume that is your wedding date. So I would imagine you would be going to Disney the next day. Today the annual passholder rates came out and they are good for bookings 8/28 to 10/4. I think I read that the general public rates will come out tomorrow. So don't delay if you want to get a room only discount. These discounts can book up fast. And remember if your stay starts before the end of a discount period you still get that rate through your entire stay! Make those plans soon so you dont miss out!

we want to get the magic your way package (sans dining) with park hopper and magic plus

I would suggest Dreams Unlimited. They will keep an eye on your reservation and if codes come along will apply it to your reservation. You don't have to keep watching. There are many satisfied Dreams customers on the DIS.

If you check in by the 4th and stay five nights yoy can get free dining right now. They just put out the code.

Also, it really may be worth it to get an AP depending on the room savings, since you don't care about the dining. DU would be able to check into that for you as well.

I read here that if you book thru a Travel Agent, you cannot call and talk to Disney directly. Be aware that all changes must be made thru your agent, so make sure you get a good one. Disney won't be able to note on your reservation about your honeymoon, your agent must to that.

Hate to say it, but we noted about special occasions on our reservations before, and never got anything from Disney, I guess there were already a thousand people louder than us.

I've put down on my ressie notes whenever we were celebrating something - honeymoon, anniversary, birthday, etc.

It is not in ANY way a guarantee that the resort or Disney will do something special. Sometimes they will, but they don't have to at all. When we stayed at the Grand Floridian for our honeymoon we didn't get anything, and I didn't expect to. When we stayed at the Polynesian for our 1 year anniversary we got a rose and a card. It was very nice. When we stayed at WL for DH's birthday he didn't get anything. Luck of the draw - don't expect anything and you won't be disappointed.

Also part of it may be where you are staying. the Food & Wine Fest will be going on then so if you are trying for any of the Epcot resorts (Boardwalk, Beach Club, Yacht Club, Swan or Dolphin) there may be no discounts available. Those resorts typically sell out at that time.

I agree with mikesmom. Last year the only ap/general public discounts I could find on the Epcot resorts were for suites. This year we originally planned to go in October. But when I called last month to get AAA rate again only suites were available. So we changed to September. Yesterday I checked on Ap rates in October just for the heck of it and there was nothing at the Beach Club.
