I received a post card today and I wanted to know if it is a good deal? Value Resort 5 nights 6 days with Disney's Base Ticket for 362.00 per person. The dates are from 9/30 - 11/19, 11/24 - 11/28, 12/8 - 12/23. If it is a good deal which week would you pick? Which resort would you pick, it is just my husband and me and we are both in our 30's?

We have reservations for Pop in December for $92.25 per night with tax. For 5 nights that would be 461.25. For 2- 6 day park tickets it would be $462.50. For 2 adults in a value with the above post card rate it would cost $724, or a savings of approx. $200. I received the same post card yesterday...

We really like Pop the best of the values. And for a date I would choose either a week in October...for Food & Wine, Eat to the Beat and MNSSHP; or the 2nd week of December for Christmas decorations and MVMCP.
DH & I love going to WDW just the 2 of us.

I think its a good deal (I wish i got a card :( :lmao: ) I think all the values are fun...I went on a Girls only trip (all adults) and we stayed at Sports & really enjoyed it...

I talked to a CM and she said with dining it would be 1111.00 w/out the insurance, would you add the dining plan? Basically she also said that it comes out to be 30% of your room rate. So we could book either room only or the package with or without dining.

I still think thats good. Personally my dh & I love the dining plan. We were quoted $1200.00 for a value resort w/ dining for 5 days.... :(

I got this one too in an email! Finally, first time I've ever gotten one. I was beginning to think these didn't actually exist.

Even though Veteran's Day is on a Sunday this year (I think), you still may get a vacation day for this (Monday the 12th?). If you do, I say take advantage of this and go for a few days in early November. The weather is very tolerable and the crowds are almost zilch. I went in 2004 for Veteran's Day and had a blast (it didn't hurt watching Boston College smoke WVU at ESPNZone either!).

I think I got the same exact postcard. It had Pluto on it and said something about not being left out in the doghouse?

I booked the week before Christmas (December 15 to 23). But the CM told me the discount applied to all resorts, so I booked the Wilderness Lodge. Of course, it cost more than the $362 price, but it was still a substantial discount.

And he also said the package could be extended for more nights at the same discount price (which is why I booked more nights). Part of me is wishing I had chosen a Value Resort to save money, though.

I asked him if I could book a room for my sister and her husband at the same rate, and he said "yes" but only if we stayed at the same hotel. My sister is 17 years older than me, and she wouldn't want to stay at a Value Resort. But now, she is saying that she may not be able to go with us this time, so I may just call back and change. I think it's a great rate. I forgot to ask if I could still get the AAA discount with it. I will have to call back and ask. I am excited. I so need a trip to Disney :cloud9:

Ok dumb question, how do you get postcards? Is it from having a Disney Visa?

posted this with someone asking the same question on another thread:

You're getting the resort for $49 a night and a base ticket for 5 days at $215.00 each person. It's a good deal on the resort. Discounts aren't generally knocked off the price of the tickets. It's a great deal IMO.:thumbsup2

DM received the code today in the mail and I just called. We only wanted a room only rate because myself and dd have APs. I had a wonderful CM. He checked to see what he needed to do to get the room only rate. We got AKL standard view (that's all they had) at $168.75 a night. It saved us over $400. Of course now I'm waiting to see what AP rates come out this next week.
