Received a PIN for March 2014, but this doesnt soind right...

So today my sister received a PIN for 30% off of our Royal Rooms at POR for March. I called our TA right away and she applied it.
My originally total was $3,654 and after the PIN was applied, it went to $3482.
Just doesn't seem like much of a drop for 30% off. I asked her what the rate is a night because I booked a package and don't know the itemized prices.
Am I missing something or just really off base here?
It's not that I don't appreciate the savings, I just expected it to make more of a dent.
Thoughts?

For moderates it's 25% off and it's only 25% off your room so It's probably not a huge amount.

Your dates are 3/1-3/8, right? The pin that I have seen only applies through3/2 so you'd only have two nights at the discounted rate.

The email says 30% off of Moderates. And my TA said it would apply to our entire stay since the promotion starts when we check in. She is on the phone with them now trying to figure it out. Thanks

Maybe so. I thought the room discounts would only apply to the nights in "range". I know the dining discounts apply for the whole stay if you check in before it ends but I figured that was not the case for room discounts.

Please report back when you hear news on that because we are hoping to go for mardi gras and if the general public discount is the same as the pin, it will affect our prices too!

Gahhhhhh!! Our plans are to go 3/2-3/8. I just got off the phone and no pin.

It does not apply to our entire stay due to black out dates. So it is different than FD! We only got a discount for 2 nights.
What we are both trying to figure out is why the black out dates?? Its not spring break, no races or anything. Any ideas? It's Mardi Gras but that isn't usually black out time. I'm just hoping something new and crazy isn't going on that's going to have WDW packed!
