recasting

ok long story short, I'm a lifeguard and I just feel nervous and uncomfortable guarding a pool anymore. I told my manager and I think they are going to recast me. Can anyone tell me what to expect? Will I be put in custodial? I don't feel like that role is a good fit for me

They could really recast you into any role, so be prepared for that. I'd say QSFB or Merch is likely, but you never know what could happen.

Someone from HR will call you and let you know where there is an opening, you have to take it or go home. Then you basically start all over and do the training for that role. Your pay rate will change too depending on what role you get.

WishesCount said it best. If you want to be recasted, they will select a new role, if you don't want that role, you either go back to your old location or you go home.

A lot of the roles aren't the most ideal or pleasant, but recasting is done based on operational need. With the summer time picking up, most who get re-cast will be placed in QSR, outdoor-foods locations, or in housekeeping roles.

Consider this, if you were a regular Cast Member and didn't like your role, you'd have to wait six months and request a transfer, or quit.

I know that often times if a lifeguard get's injured or fails an audit, they stay at their same location and simply swap their red shorts for blue ones and become a recreation host at the resorts or silde-operator at the water parks. I imagine you could do that voluntarily as well. That way you can stay at your location and still get to work in the sunshine, but without the stress and responsibility of guarding. Is that a possibility for you?
