Rebooking discount while onboard?

So you get a discount if you book a future cruise while still onboard? You can't get this discount if you wait until you get back home? How big is the savings and are you able to change the dates and still keep the discount? I'm guessing if you plan on doing this you need to come prepared with $200 per person for the deposit? Can you switch the ressie over to your travel agent?

What is the Castaway Club? Don't you get discounts with that? This is for anyone that has cruised before, right? Thanks for any info!

Hi...The discount is 10% and 200$ stateroom credit for a 7 night cruise...Yes, you can switch the dates without penalty, so long as you are before final payment...Yes, you do need the deposit per person. Yes, you can switch the ressie to your travel agent, for possibly a cheaper price, and keep every discount you get onboard.

The Castaway Club is for past cruisers. No discount for being a member. Too many of us I think. You can board in a special line (sometimes easier), and get a gift in your stateroom, when you are a repeat cruiser...

How hard is it to transfer a reservation to your TA?

When I rebooked while on board 2 weeks ago, the CM who rebooked my cruise noted that I was booked on my current cruise through Dreams Unlimited, (it is on a computer screen she has in front of her) and asked if I would like my new cruise transfered to Dreams. I said yes, and that was that, they have no problems with it at all. And the downpayment was made to my credit card I used to open my stateroom account. It is a seperate charge, not added to your onboard bill.

You are correct. In fact, that's exactly what I did for my cruise on 9/24/05

Wow!!! That is a great deal! I had no idea that you get the TA's better price and then 10% off that! I was considering booking onboard when we go next year but now that I know this, I'm definately booking!!! Also, the TA we used for our 2nd cruise was Allseas.com and they said they would give you an additional $200 stateroom credit (over and above the $200 Disney offers) if you transfer to them. I wonder if all TAs do this???
