I listen to the podcast a lot and I've always heard people wanting to know where they can purchase liquor near the resorts. This site has some local liquor stores listed with maps that have good prices. I agree that any of those generic "Liquor" stores totally try to rip you off. I went to one by SeaWorld that wanted $33 for a 1.75 of generic rum - at Walmart's liquor store that would be $12, ABC Liquor it's around $14. So watch your back!

We go to the Walmart one when visiting WDW. It seems to have the best prices. I don't know the name of it, but we take 192 and get off the ramp to Haines City??? and there is a huge Walmart on the right.

I know the one you are talking about and it is farther away from Disney than the one on hwy 535 that is mentioned on that site.

THOSE LIquor stores are farther away than the one I go to. I posted on that site with directions. It is on 535 in the Walgreen's shopping center. I think it is owned by the same person since the receipt says Walgreen's liquors. Their prices are reasonable and sometimes they have specials.
If you want to go there take a right out of DTD hotel BLvd, then look for Walgreen's on your right, just past Chick-Fil-A. the liquor store is right next to Wlagreen's on the left.

We use to go to the liquor store at the Publix (the publix run one) and pick up a bottle of tequila and it was $17.99 vs $24.99 at the no name liquid store near the Publix closer to WDW/AKL on 192. But recently while at the Walmart picking up a stroller for the granddaughter we found ourselves in the liquor store there and was surprised to see the same bottle of tequila for only $15.49! It just seems to be the further you go, the cheaper the prices.

In Florida, you can usally stick with the stores you already know from home and get along just fine...

Familiar names like Walmart, Target, Publix (for those not familiar, it's the South's leading traditional grocery chain), and the 3 big Warehouse Clubs all have liquor departments with very reasonable prices.

Also, if you are a military ID card holder and staying on WDW, the "AAFES General Store" (Mini BX/PX) inside Shades of Green sells a variety of beer, wine, and other adult beverages at low, tax-free prices.

That would work for some people but if you live in a state where liquor is only sold in state-owned stores, it's nice to know of the other types of stores(and their prices) that sell it in Florida.
