What do you think is a reasonable price to pay for flights from Atlantic Canada( Halifax or St. Johns)-Orlando return. The cheapest I can see now is just over $1400 for 3 people return taxes in, which is for our expected travel dates April 23-30th or April 30-May7. Should I book this soon or wait it out? I want to book it by Feb 18 to take advantage of the free park hopper, water park option. We have to travel from western Newfoundland to start with so we already have to travel a day ahead or else pay a huge price at our local airport(Deer Lake). Any input would be appreciated.

I was able to get flights out of Halifax (I'm from PEI) for my nephew and me for about $1100. This is for March. I've seen a little cheaper, but not very often. If you're paying $1400 for 3 people, It looks pretty good to me.

Does anyone else have a comment on how much they pay for flights from Halifax? I would like to get idea if we are going to be paying to much for our April trip.

We are from Sydney and do the five hour drive to Halifax to get our flights each year. We are going in June and watching for anything under 550.00 total per tickets. They are currently running over $625.00.+ I would think that they are great prices. Good Luck and have a great time. We just came back on Jan. 11 and once again it was everything we had hoped and more.

If those prices are from NF, they are pretty good, I would grab them. The best I have found from Halifax is $512. direct, but we will be going into St. Petes and out of Orlando. If we could have returned on a Monday instead of sSnday we could have got them for $480. These are pretty good prices as well.

Those prices are from Halifax right now....I did see some prices last weekend from St. Johns, Newfoundland with Westjet for around $500 per person taxes in. We live close by to an airport (1/2 hour away in Deer Lake) but the only carrier going out of country is Air Canada and they are very expensive now( probably in the $2500 range for 3 people). Our main alternatives are to drive to St. Johns and leave the following morning( 6-7 hours each way drive) or else drive 7 hours total to Halifax with a 7 hour ferry crossing. We did the trip Dec 2005 from Halifax for just under $1400 all taxes included. The prices do change so much from one day to the next so I'll just keep checking around until I get the right deal. I think it was Delta or United we were looking at yesterday for just under $1400 from Halifax....decent flight times too. If this wasn't for Disney(and Universal this time) I wouldn't be going through all this trouble...lol.

I know from Buffalo NY you can get a non stop flight to Orlando return for about $150.00 US. Check southwest.com not sure if they fly out of Maine or not.

If you can get anything out of Halifax for around $500, I would grab it. The prices have been quite high the last year or two. The price you quoted for 3 looks like a great deal. There have been a few decent deals lately, but I wouldn't wait. It's a pain to have to travel so far--we have a five hour drive to Halifax as well. But once you see Mickey, it's all worth it!!:rotfl:

I found flights from halifax to Orlando for $316 round trip each person if you want to go on the 18th and come back on the 26th.

I can find flights flying out on the 23rd but the 30th is booked.

email me @rhiwork@gmail.com and I can flight search some more.

You could save plenty more dollars by driving to Bangor. Just 3 hrs from Fredericton. I just got round trip tickets for Christmas at $208.00 US per person. The prices are crazy flying out of the maritimes.....there is no need for it!

My son and I are flying West Jet (direct flights) Apr.25, returning May 2. With the taxes, it cost $924.00, so $1400 for 3 people is a good price.

I know what a pain and how expensive it is to fly out of NL. Have you checked Westjet out of St. John's? One good thing - you do have the option of driving to Halifax - but then againg going that route you are at the mercy of Marine Atlantic.

We booked last night....WestJet had a so-called sale. Got a early flight out from St.Johns April 30-returning late the following Monday May7. Not cheap....$1530 for 3 all taxes in, but what do you do living in Newfoundland. Like you said we were thinking of going from Halifax for $1300-1400, then you have all the extra travel. Anyway we have it all booked now, 4 nights five days with the free park hopper water park option at the All Star Sports, then we are getting a Dollar Rental for 3 days(using KISS2 code), getting a full size car for $23 per day, plus they pick you up at the Disney hotel(I called to ask). We are then staying at Comfort Inn Lake Buena Vista for 3 nights and we purchased the Universal 7 day passes. We were at Disney Dec 2005 but it's our first Universal visit. All we need now is our sons passport, we dropped it off at our local Service Canada site back on Jan 26, hopefully it won't take 65 days.....lol.

It really iritates me the prices we have to pay to get off the island but that is all we can do. We booked our flights last June on Aeroplan for Easter and are definately taking a milk run - St. John's - Toronto- Washington - Orlando!!! Have a great trip. Good job on dropping the passport off at the office you'll have it in no time. It's the mailing in that is taking so long.

These Service Canada sites are only a drop off point here on the west coast. They will check it over, take the payment, but they still send it away (to St. Johns I guess). It says it can take up to 45 days going by the recording at the toll free number. The 45 days should be around the middle of March, so hopefully we'll get it around that time.
