i have been pricing up a 4 night stay for sept and for some reason the week commencing the 11th sept is dearer in most hotels and less availabilty that the week after or the week before. This was the week i was looking at as its dd birthday on 9th but i am not that fussed about the date.
is there something going on that week or a french holiday or something? i am now thinking i should avoid that week and go the week before or after?

There's no public holidays or school holidays as they have only gone back on the 5th and universities are still off until mid-end October.

Could be a big conference or event :confused3

Funny, *** I've been looking at the week before and finding it more expensive with similarly low availability (about £150 difference) than the 11th week. :confused3 Wasn't like this 2 years ago, five of us (adults at DCR) went in Sep for not much more than it'd cost just me this year.

Oh look... I've come out of my lurker's hidey hole. Think it's time to retreat again. ;)

how strange, i didnt think about a conference - good point. Just managed to get a really good price with 50% off going on the 18th so might give the newport bay a go as its the only dlrp hotel we havent stayed in!
