Reason for Yacht Club CL so-so reviews?

Having already stayed CL at the GF, Poly, and WL come this December, we thought it would be fun to try the Yacht Club for the Food & Wine Festival next year. We loved the GF and Poly and heard great things about the WL. When looking at Yacht Club reviews they seem much more negative...or average. From what I've seen the lounges generally offer similar items (except for ham/turkey slices at GF breakfast).

While the Poly is very highly regarded by most (including us) and serves nothing but cookies, goldfish, and gummies at lunch, other have criticized the Yacht Club for the same lineup. I know the lounge isn't as big as the Poly, but the Sugarloaf at the GF isn't all that large either. Is there something I'm missing that leaves the Yacht club way behind the others? Thanks!

I think you should take reviews with a grain of salt. I think people who like to complain are more likely to write a review than somebody who had a nice, pleasant time.

I went to a conference recently in Houston and stayed at a hotel I'd never been to before. I checked out the reviews on Trip Advisor and I was expecting a run-down horror with bad service and dirty rooms. I thought about moving hotels (as some of my co-workers did), but waited too long and had to stay. What did I find when I arrived? A gorgeous hotel with beautiful rooms and excellent service. I ended up having a much better stay than my co-workers who moved.

I've done most of the CLs at WDW and I would rank YC nearer the bottom. Is it a lot worse than most of the others? No. It's slightly less desirable. I like it as well as Sugarloaf but it falls short of RPC.

CL isn't just about the offerings and lounge. The CMs and the feeling that you are receiving an upgraded service play into it too. I felt YC fell a bit short in those areas.

Staying at Epcot area during F&W is important to me. I prefer BWI CL over YC but I like YC better than BC's CL. So much is based on personal experiences rather than hard fact reasons. BWI's offerings aren't any better but the CMs certainly went out of their way at BWI.

I don't take anything with a grain of salt.... When I review anything, I speak my mind from experience... I don't go overboard but want what was professed or written...

I do reply to Tripadvisor.... What we felt, expected and received so others can make their mind up...

We've done CL at different WDW resorts, still stick to my guns, you don't get what you pay for... And we're not ones to pay for experience... We want tangibles...which for what Disney charges falls short...

Some people praise anything Disney does, doesn't work for me.. if its bad its bad...I don't post just to get my post count up.. I post because I want others to know what we experienced and to judge from there...

We stayed there two previous years & return this year. It is wonderful. Some people are complainers. We didn't ever find anything to complain about. The service is excellent. They bend over backwards to accommodate. The food is delicious. It is an awesome experience. Enjoy it! That's why we keep returning. If you have any questions, I'm here to help☺

We stayed CL at YC in April. While we LOVED YC, we wouldn't do CL again there. It wasn't that it was bad, it was just ok. The food selections were far superior at WL than at YC. The friendliness and atmosphere at WL was so much better.

Don't get me wrong, we had an awesome stay at YC, and don't regret trying CL there. It was still nice, but just wasn't amazing like it was at WL. For the up charge that CL costs, I would much rather have amazing, than just ok. You know?

Again, it wasn't a bad experience....just not as good as a prior experience. I think everyone should try stuff for themselves to make a judgement. I'm glad we did. ::yes::

We haven't stayed YC CL so I can't comment on it from experience, but I too have read more negative reviews than positive reviews about it. YC CL is one I want to try, but I'm hesitant as I'm afraid it won't compare to other CLs we've tried (WL CL, GF SL, & GF RPC, although I didn't care for SL). I see you're trying WL CL in December. My favorite is GF RPC, but WL CL ranks a very close second (with WL CL far surpassing GF SL, IMO). If YC CL is one you want to try, I say go for it as everyone's experience/opinion is different and what one person might not like, another person will. Good luck.

Appreciate all the responses so far. We don't use the IPO much but love to take a break from the parks in the afternoon and relax in the lounge over snacks/drinks. As of now we plan to visit the YC during our WL stay in December to get a feel.

Too bad they don't let you tour the CL. We are looking to book next year's trip HOPEFULLY with a RO Bounce-back!

I would definitely ask to see the lounge as I'm sure they would take you up there (provided it's not too busy and a CM was available to do it). Just tell them you are considering booking YC CL for your next trip and would like to see the lounge. I know someone who was able to tour the Poly lounge, so it doesn't hurt to ask as the worst that can happen is they can tell you it's not possible.

That would be excellent thanks for the suggestion :)
