REAS for 4 night Cruise Question....

I have read lots of information on this board about the REAS package and seems like a wonderful way to celebrate our 14th Anniversary next year.

Question, we will be traveling with our 2 sons ages 7 & 4, what dining rotation would you choose? We have chosen late dining so we can enjoy the show before dinner. I was thinking Artist Point on the first night with the kids since that is the one restaurant I want them to experience, I will give them the option on the other nights whether they want to dine with us or go to the Kids Club.

What night would you choose for Palo? I would like to do the Brunch also on the At Sea day. I had heard that dining in Palo while you are in Nassau is quite an experience.

Is the REAS worth the $399 for the 4 night cruise?

Any other information I should know? I am trying to think of more questions, I am sure they will come up.

DW and I are doing the REAS for our 6th anniversary on the 11/28/04 4 day. We are doing our Spa and Palo dinner on the sea day. We are doing the LAP rotation, but that is because Sunday is our anniversary, and I wanted us to be in a nice restaurant on our actual anniversary. We chose the sea day for Palo and Spa as kind of a going away present for ourself from the ship. Of course, DW has no idea this is occurring, it is all a surprise to her. And remember, your romantic turndown will be on your Palo night. The only reason I might not want to do it on Nassau night is they often do a deck part on that night as well, weather permitting.

As for the value, I am extremely cheap and feel that all the touches and inclusions are worth it. I am a die-hard romantic, and will spend money on things like REAS.

As for booking it, if you choose to do so (even if you book with a TA), don't wait on DCL to call you for reservations (like the CM might tell you). You can call Debbie directly, and she will make the Palo and Spa ressies. The problem with waiting until the 30 days out that DCL says that they will call is that the openings will be more limited the closer you get to the sail date.

A big percentange of the REAS cost is the couples massage. If you were to book just that on your own, it's advertised at $242. You also receive a full room service breakfast for 2 on one of the mornings, which is usually reserved for those guests staying in concierge. I don't know what the value of the gift basket is, but I imagine it's in the $50 range. Knowing that you don't have to do the ressie rush when you board for Palo's dinner & brunch, can be priceless.

Debbie can definitely confirm your spa, dinner and brunch reservations, but your dining rotation is a request only. I have read other reports where guests have ended up with a different rotation than what they asked for. We ate dinner at Palo's on our first night and it was very relaxing. I would choose either the first or second night. Animators Palate is a fun place to eat, but keep in mind that if you repeat it on your 4th night, they will not do the light show.

When you order room service breakfast you can order enough food for the kids too.

We did the APTA rotation so we could have Animator's Palette the first night.

We did Palo on our last night (skipping the Master Chef's menu in the restaurants).
