We have our stay coming up in September 24-October 4th with split stays between Boardwalk, BLT and The Polynesian.

I called this morning after not being being able to make reservations past Sept 27th and was told by two different agents, whom I actually thing were the same person, but 2 different names given that I have to call back each day at each reservation. I explained that I have been doing this for a few years and I had always been given 180 + 10 day privealages with only the first confirmation number.

Did they change the policy is anyone aware of? -I was just in last Sept and this January and had no troubles making my reservations for dining and several previous years that we have done split stays.

ok did some digging...policy either existed or is reinforced by upgrading of system. A real bummer, I guess I will be making ressies in a few days too. :crazy2:

Basically you are being penalized for doing a split stay. You are not being given the same advantage to book 180 + 10 when staying on property. Disney obviously doesn't want DVC members or anyone to do a split stay. You could have booked in one resort and had this "180 + 10 privilege", but you, me and many others choose to do a split stay and are losing out because of it. I spoke with Disney about this unfair situation and was told "well split stays are mostly a DVC thing" and "If I wanted the 180 +10 I should just book my DVC stay in one resort". Maybe if enough people complain and call they will make the policy fair to their consecutive split-stay guest. Its a very frustrating situation.

The online system in the past would lock you out of the 180 + 10 on a split stay, but you used to be able to call in to Disney Dining give your reservation numbers so they could see your consecutive stay and they could book your 180 +10. When the system was "updated" to allow Be Our Guest lunch reservations, they also seem to have remove the ability for Disney Dining to book the 180 +10 on split stays. So this all occurred a little over 5 weeks ago. Please call in and complain about how unfair this is to split stay guest.

Thanks for the advice Adam. I figured it was a rather recent change too. I think it is really unfair considering it is advertised as 180+10 and all of the resort reservations are right there in front of her. I just feel as though I had an agent that didn't go the extra mile and she certainly didn't make my day magical. The second time I talked to her she stated she already spoke to a supervisor. I will call again because guests shouldn't be penalized for split stays.

Yes, we have been DVC members for years and have always stayed at BLT (home base) and at least one other resort. You don't get many nights for our points at BLT, maybe 4-5, and we like to stay around 9-10 days. Our longer stays are helping them keep the rooms occupancies up. It annoys me that they would even mention that to you- what kind of marketing strategy are they running?

We have to call member services again Monday anyhow because we made our reservation for September at the end of Feb when we got our points, but they had a "problem" with their system. No really, that was the excuse du jour of our last two trips. Anyway they didn't enter our reservation when they rebooted the DVC website and now we don't even have one of the nights we originally asked for. They have to shuffle some things around for us. Yes, they will be shuffling us some sort of compensation because what a load of bologna. Getting penalized two days in a row from Disney doesn't make me happy! :sad2:

Not sure how it will work with FP+, but I assume it will have the same challenges.

As of right now in does NOT effect fastpass + The system sees your check-in date and allows you to book fastpass for your entire stay, based on the tickets you have. As an annual pass holder I can book depending on how long my stay is, my entire split stay at 60 days. ( I seem to recall its 14 days worth on a long stay split or non split stay and then the next day book the 15th, the next day book the 16th etc.) Disney can change it anytime they like, just like they did with the dining for split stays. So far though they haven't made that change to fastpass.
