Really Bad Night

You don't necessarily have to hit anything to let her password be stored. On our computer, they get stored. If you log onto my computer once, and, say, your sign in name starts with a "B", all I need to do is type a "B" and push the arrow down key and it will give me a list of all the "B" names used to date. Then, once it auto-completed the name, I could tab into the password box and the password is entered.

I don't know how it was set this way, nor do I know how to erase the data, short of uninstalling and reinstalling explorer. There are at least a half dozen VMK players whose names I do not know (and are not mules of our family) in my computer. If I was malicious, I could rob them blind.

She needs to change that password ASAP and never again play VMK while at a friend's house.

I believe you are referring to firefox. The first time you put in your password it asks if you would like to save it, and chances are you may have hit that. This doesn't happen to me, but I know it can because I tried it with 1 of my accounts. Internet explorer doesn't do it for me, but firefox does.

The funny thing is that he has been getting on his dad's ebay account and purchasing items for vmk, without their knowledge. It came out when the sister, my dd's friend who was upset at her brother for doing that to my dd, told he parents. They then asked me how this works and he could basically buy, "nothing", on ebay for vmk :confused3 CRAZY!!!
Wow.. that kid's out of line. I would never buy anything on eBay without my parent's permission, and that's when I'm paying for the item!

It seems like teh you know what is about to hit the fan with this kid and his VMK stuff. I just hope the parents follow through. I'll keep you guys all posted! ::yes::

Maybe this is a good wake up call for his parent!! A little more parental ::cop: involvement, taking away the computer. We have a wireless router and i can lock down (from the internet) any computer in the house. Thank goodness for a DH:lovestruc that loves having all the cool gadgets.

Wow, just when I think things are bad enough it gets worse. Even if I weren't a Disney freak I'd make sure that I knew what my kids were doing on the computer. It's too unsafe to not know what they're doing and who they could be meeting. If his parents don't take the opportunity of this wake up call now I suspect they are going to really regret it later. It's bad enough to steal another's VMK account to gain access to their stuff, that he'll even steal from his parents to get what he wants screams loudly that he needs some direct one on one supervision. I hope his parents realize they need to land on him hard for this.

Something else I just thought of. It would be really neat if one of the Hosts stopped by to give Trish's daughter something from their host gifts. I know they won't do much when someone's account is hacked but it would be really nice gesture of them to show that they feel bad for what happened. I just wish I knew one of the Hosts to ask.

Actually, IE does it too. You just have to have the settings checked in the options of the browser.
I use both browsers when having 2 characters up as it causes less problems on my computer than to use the same browser for both. :)

In Firefox, you can delete the saved logins and passwords easily.
Just go to tools, then options. Then click on the security tab. You should see where it says passwords. There, you can pick whether to remember passwords or not. Click on Show Passwords and pick ones from the list that you want to delete and hit delete. :)

As for the parents that have no idea what this kid is doing while on the computer, that's part of the problems today. Too many parents not being actual parents and letting technology be the babysitter. :(

Wow, my little example was supposed to be just that! This kid needs some supervision and the parents need to learn more about using their computer, especially when it comes to security issues. For the kid to be buying stuff on ebay, the ebay account info is stored on the computer AND I'm guessing the paypal account info is stored. That assumes the kid has been following through and paying for the items he purchased. So another question is, why haven't the parents noticed payments have been made through their credit card or bank account? :scared1:

i was woundering does you dd playing animal crossing wild world for the ds if so do you have wifi connection and if so i have alot of extras in that game i can give her also

That is so sweet of you to offer! Everyine has been so incredibly generous! She does play the animal crossing game from the website, but don't really get the whole wifi thingy! lol!! We do have a wireless connection, and she does have a DS........does that make any sense? DD is sleeping now, but I can ask her in the morning! Thank you!!! princess:

so she does have animal crossing for ds and you do have wireless internet then all i need is her friend code and then meet on the ds of wirless internet and i can give her millions of beels maybe billions and to tell you bells=money

I talked to the boy's mom at school this morning again, and it didn't start out with this whole "VMK scandal", but after talking to her I think the boy has multiple accounts that he is storing items that he has been taking from my DD account, and possibly other people's accounts who have signed on to their computer in the past. Is there any way I can help the mom find out how many accounts he has? This whole thing just keeps getting deeper and deeper!!!!!!! :sad2:

Thanks!

This whole thing is just ABSOLUTE RUBBISH! The mother should be punishing her son for inappropriate behavior. he should be earning credits for your daughter and replace all valuables immidiately. I too will chip in Saturday. I have a few unneeded items I know I'll never use.

Hugs :grouphug: to you and your daughter. Like others stated, Karma has a nice way of brightening up a bad situation!

I hope that boy learns a lesson. It truly is a shame to witness unbelievable crimes that were never nessecary. :sad2: Stuff like this makes me wonder what kind of a man he'll be when he grows up...:scared1:

What goes around comes around.

Thank you so much for thinking of DD!! I just don't know what to say about the boy. If he were my son, things may have been handled alittle differently, but, truthfully, she is not familiar with VMK (can you believe it :cutie: ) and doesn't really understand that a lot of her things came from actual visits/quests from the parks and that now they are no longer available! Oh well! The support from all the wonderful ppl has been amazing! Thank you!

I'd also be there on Saturday, but I'm going to be at WDW.(:cool1:)

Please keep us updated on what action(s) this boy's mother takes.

try to get the boys account pass and transfer his items to your dd's. At least the ones he traded for because they are rightfully hers

no not like that. JUSt the items that he stole from her that he still has , and the things he got from her stuff. I dont mean take it all. Just get back what is rightfully yours

Actually, her friend gave her his username and password and she refuses to get on (That made me pretty proud!) :cutie: Besides, he traded all her stuff to get other stuff........he made some pretty bad trades on his part!

so what did she thing about tha animal crossing game idea and well i think you should do that cop thing but ask the other mom first then get the cop to put him in a cell to really really freak him out and really teach him a lesson
