Really angry - waited until Midnight for FP

I went to WDW just last week. I didn't make a FP until 8pm the night before. Got all the ones I wanted, and then added two more during the day for a different park, after I used my first three. Those two were for the Haunted Mansion and the 7DMT. Yea, it's a terrible system.

I don't suppose that you might consider that you are doing something wrong and not them, by any chance. Whenever I have had a problem with the system, I always approach the problem by saying that "I" might have done something wrong and could they help me, please. They have always come through for me. All those that think they have to yell and make fools of themselves to get their own way, usually lose. Try a different approach. One might be surprised at how much gets accomplished by acting civil. Who knew?

Lol. Hopefully you'll find this funny after a good night's sleep and the fast passes you wanted.

LOL - thanks for the laughs - my computer screen doesn't like the water all over it but it will recover.....OH how I hate early mornings! I'm good for the late night.

What slays me is the suggestion that 7:00 a.m. was "more fair" to whom? Stay at home housewives on the East coast? Surely 4:00 a.m. in CA in more difficult than 12:00 in N.E. Who isn't commuting, getting ready or working on the East Coast and within Central Time at 7:00 a.m.?

I work in IT - at a fairly high level. I had 6 devices and three different networks available to me. It was the system. Eventually, it cleared on the computer browsers; it did not resolve on the Android or Iphone App.

I actually think they are doing something wrong by asking people to reserve a time for a 2 minute ride 2 months in advance.

Not shocking at all. That's very typical of Disney IT. For a company known for their bad IT systems to set up a system that runs ride access through those IT systems was just crazy.

fastpass window opens at 7 am

Hating this. So appreciate the update, though. Almost launched equipment across the room. When it didn't work in the morning, I was seeing red. Eventually one browser was able to get through ~ 7:15. Done by 7:45 a.m.

ME TOO! I miss the old FP system. The one where I could look out the window and decide EPCOT was better in the Monsoon.

SO, so bad.

We are DVC and AP holders. We are always able to get the 60-day window. The time opens at 7 a.m. See if it works then. If not, make sure your reservation is applied to your MDE. If it still doesn't work, call Disney.

AT 7:00 a.m., there were gophers (or something) on the screen - unable to complete request (or some message). DH and I are DVC/AP with a reservation in 60 days. The midnight foray was my fault. I think of a day as beginning at midnight - like a clock or calendar. The 7:00 a.m. blockage was all IT. Finally got in at 7:15 on Chrome; third try - the Android and iPhone App kept spinning.

And yet it worked perfectly with my Android phone. Was I perhaps communicating with a system that was different then Disney's. It either works or it doesn't. Mine worked, I cannot explain why yours wouldn't.

Dude, seriously, what's with the cracks at stay at home housewives? Learn to read a room.

You remind me of the customers where I work. We have to take video game servers offline for maintenance every so often. No matter what time we do it, people whine that the time zone is a) chosen to favor someone else; b) chosen just to inconvenience them as much as possible.

Of course, you expect that from teenaged gamers.

Really on the East Coast exactly at 7:00 a.m. this morning? This BB has almost one IT complaint a day. Perhaps you work for HP?

You mean like this? 7 minutes ago?

As long as one doesn't work or commute to work in the standard hours.

I work in the standard hours. Heck even when I commuted in the standard hours 7am was not in my commute time. You seem to have something against stay at home moms and people who work the standard 9-5. Anyone who can't do the time can use a Disney travel agent who cost them absolutely nothing extra. Many of them will book your fp+ for you.

I think most people with the $ to go to WDW work 8 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

This isn't a one time maintenance issue. 7:00 a.m. on the East Coast is definitely in the getting ready/commuting hours for the overwhelming majority. I think a random real work sampling would reveal that 8:00 p.m. in CA is better than 4:00 a.m. unless one is a 'gamer'. But then again, Disney maybe catering more to non U.S. time zones (HA and AK notwithstanding)

I think you're over generalizing.

That 8:00 p.m. is better than 4:00 a.m. on the West Coast? For whom? Really, why aren't most brick and mortar businesses open between 11:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.?

They're not going to find a time that's best for everyone. Middle of the night was a disaster for me. I never could get back to sleep after and had to drag myself through the next day.

Ultimately they didn't do it to be more or less convenient for anyone. They did it so that anyone with issues had someone to call right away to have their issues addressed.

If you think about it no matter what time Disney chose it would be an inconvenience for some.
You rather it be midnight because you "work for a living" well there are people that work overnights that have to be getting ready to "work for a living" at midnight.
Its only that it now inconveniences YOU that you are bothered by it.
Personally I work from home (no not a housewife or mother. I'm 30 and single) and I'd rather it be midnight because 7am is still sleepy time for me but I get my butt in gear and ready to make my FP+ at 7am because for me its a priority.

I can only imagine how you feel about ADR's being 6am eastern online and 7am eastern vy phone.

I work 8 am (well 745 am) to afternoon time. 7am E is 6am C. I wasn't aware of the change when I made ours last October. Waited up until the 12am E/11 pm C, no luck. So waited until 12am C; no luck. Googled and found time change. Set alarm for 5:30am C to be coherent and paying attention at 6. Got my FP+ and still was bright eyed and bushy tailed and made it through my work day fine and happy.
