I live in California, and have an upcoming conference nearish to Orlando (1 hour flight away - for me, this is close!) I haven't been back to WDW since 2015 and in looking at the schedule, there is one day of the conference which has content I've heard in previous years. I'm debating skipping out one day of the conference (basically flying late Wed. evening, spending Thurs. somewhere at WDW - likely AK for Pandora, then doing either Epcot or Disney Springs, and flying back to the conference early Fri AM). Crazy, or would you do it? Price isn't much of a concern as the flight is under $100 and I'd likely just stay at a value resort - plus my husband is supportive! We have a 1 year old so a chance for a solo trip anytime soon apart from this isn't realistic.

It's doable if you time your flights just right, and I would look at which park has EMH that day. That said, you won't get everything done in one day, especially in AK(Pandora can take 3-4 hours just for that section) or HS if you are going after Toy Story Land opens. You will need to prioritize certain things, but a one day trip is definitely doable, if you keep these things in mind and also come up with a loose touring plan.

Thanks! Yes, am thinking I would rope drop AK, spend 3-4 hours at Pandora, then spend the afternoon/evening at Epcot. I love MK but live 10 minutes from Disneyland, so it isn't a priority this trip, and Toy Story Land won't be open yet. I would land around 11pm on Wed. evening and fly out 8am Friday morning...so it would be a whirlwind visit. Checking hotel availability, the only value resort available is All Star Sports...sigh. But this trip is better than no trip, I guess!

I ran into the same problem with resorts for my trip, but I am only staying on property two days out of a week long trip. Get 3 days of EMH that way that I plan to use to fit in what I can't fit in otherwise.

Of course! When I lived in Florida and had Resident Annual passes I would drop by for a few hours just to get my "fix". Have fun!
