I just received this e-mail and it just doesn't sound right to me. Yes, I do use Compuserve.

Dear Compuserve Member:

It has come to our attention that your compuserve Billing Information records are out
of date. This requires an update of your billing information. Please take several minutes
out of your online experience and update your billing records. You will not run into future
problems with our online services.
However, failure to update your records will result in a restricted account,
further actions include termination of your account.
Please update your records carefully. Once you have updated your account records your Compuserve session will not be interrupted.

Thank you for your time and we appreciate your business.

COMPUSERVE Billing Dept team.

Seems like a scam to me. I would NEVER click through an email to update anything. I would call Compuserve and ask them. If they do need that...go directly to their website and do it yourself. Never do it through an email.

Sounds like a scam to me. I get these all the time from a fraudulant Ebay scamer. I would just contact Compuserve via the 1-800 number and double check before giving any information out.

I also would never use a link to update accounting information, anytime it asks for that type of information I would consider it a scam.

Sounds like a scam to me. You can always go by your own link to Compuserve and check your account. Do not use the link they provided you. That sounds like a scam that is frequently used to capture credit card information.

I think your e-mail might be a scam. We get similar messages from several business we deal with from time to time, and every one of them has been a scam. Do not replay to this message. I would even consider reporting it to Compuserve. Better to act on the safe side of things. Identity theft is a horrible thing.

I figured it was a scam because it didn't come to my primary e-mail address.

You can always hover your mouse over the link and see where it is taking you.... very doubtful it will be a compuserve website.

These types of Emails are almost 100% of the time scams.
