Real number analysis of DxDP- no voodoo here

Being the anal retentive person that I am, I wanted to make sure that I am saving money with the DxDP. So what I did:

• I have ADRs for most breakfasts and dinners, one lunch.
• I figured out what I'd probably order for each appitizer, entree, dessert, and non-alcoholic drink.
• I multiplied the price of dinner by 6.5% for the tax.
• I added those numbers up.

Here are my results:

• With 14 out of 21 adult TS credits already accounted for, if I was paying OOP, I would spend: $423.06 pretax.
• With 14 out of 21 child TS credits already accounted for, my daughter would cost OOP: $165.56 pretax
• Post tax for just me and my daughter is: $626.88
• Cost for me on the DxDP 7nights: 489.93
• Cost for DD4 on DxDP 7nights: 139.93
• Add these together: $629.86

As I have 12 out of 21 meals planned and no snacks purchased, I'm only down $3. I know there are at least 3 meals that are not planned but will be purchased and numerous snacks. Just based on these facts and that I've prepaid for my meals, I won't go when I read the prices at Disney makes that DxDP more than worth it for me.

BTW, I did analyze how much I should bring for tips, right now, I calculate around $90 or so.

Wow, thanks for the analysis! It certainly looks like a good deal. Of course last year it was an even better deal with tip included. However, you will still obviously come out ahead again this year.

Ah, heck - the $3 is more than accounted for by the ($11.99+$.78) refillable mugs you'll each get! So, without adding a single meal to what you already planned, or getting even one single snack, you're already ahead!

Wow, looks like you'll come out REALLY ahead!!! That's great!! I don't think you're anal retentive at all - I did the same thing to calculate if the regular DDP will still be a good deal for our family (it will), and we're not going till 2009 LOL!! Who knows what will change by then, though, so I'll likely be doing it all over again. That's OK, it's fun!!! Maybe I should price out the DxDP...
