Real Life game/fun: Calling for a DisBoard Gamers DisMeet....first week Oct 2013

It's a Friday, I don't work on Fridays, and I've got two calendars, 2012 and 2013, and I'm going to be pencilling in some trips going forward. DH and I will hopefully both be retired by that fall, and we really want a repositioning cruise later that October or November. I'm trying for a 5-7 night trip for this Meet!

For the last week, the Lasters have worked up a new way to save for this trip. Thought I'd post it up here as well so that we can all have a bit of fun.

Every time you post and your post ends up on a new page, we've decided to put a dime away for the people in the US. For me in Oz, I'm putting away at least a quarter or 50 cents as I have so much more airfare to save up for.

Let the savings begin!!



BTW and for Kitty and Bobbi - Usnuz's talent on the Dis is in page turning. She just seems to have the knack for it.

Well Bobbi, I won't be bumping into you at the BCV this week. I had to cancel my trip yesterday. I rebooked it for December at SSR, now I have to figure out ADRs and we're only about a month out.

I'm sorry to read this. I'm glad you were able to book for December. I'll be solo for 2 nights at VWL...the 14th and 15th...will you overlap with those? DH will be with me for the early part of the stay, but he has to leave early for work. My exams will be finished by that time, so I can stay.

I am famous for turning pages, so I figured I might as well get paid for it. So I was collecting 1 cent a page. Then people started turnibg pages. That is cutting into my disney fund for 2013. Now shes up the anti for page turning. I need the check to come in 2013.

Through much of our married life, now 43 years, DH only had 2 weeks paid vacation. He took one week in the summer and the other between Christmas and New Years. However, he really liked to get away, so we took weekend trips. We lived in New Jersey and there are so many great things, like DC, NYC, that were only a few hours away. So, yes, that tradition has continued. We like to get away!

We leave on the 12th. I finally just wrapped up my ADRs and conveniently before we have to pay a $10pp deposit.

We went to a great culinary demonstration by Sally James! She substituted large prawns for the bugs of her choice (something that she caught as a child in Tasmania I think. However they were flavored with delicious Australian spices, and paired with a California chardonnay. She's giving two free demos tomorrow, I'm sad we'll miss them, but I'm at least going to try to find some of her recipes on line!

This great day makes me more excited about the 2013 F&W Disboards gamers meet!
