Real Life game/fun: Calling for a DisBoard Gamers DisMeet....first week Oct 2013

:yay:Bobbi

Plus, I have a 5 week Floridian trip that starts with our NYE (2011) stay at the BWV!

I remember reading about it when you booked the final piece of that trip. That sounds amazing! Have a great time!

Have a great time Bobbi. It's crazy busy here...the new contract is great; but it keeps me busy at work (as it should be).

And in the lead-up to christmas, all my weekends are stupid plus all the extra activity to get ready for christmas....:sad2:

I hope that we get to cross paths at the weekend sometime.

Now that the DVC resorts have wifi, it will be easy to keep in touch when I'm down there! We had a coating of snow the other night, and I'm glad I made these arrangements to hopefully miss most of winter's gifts.:goodvibes

Today is our last day of classes, and next week is exam week.

I'm glad your contract is a good one, Princess!

franandaj, I read all of your posts on the DVC boards!:thumbsup2

2 week countdown to Christmas...which means it is 3 weeks away from 2012!

2 week countdown to Christmas...which means it is 3 weeks away from 2012!

So do you know you 2013 Disney dates yet? Do they release holiday dates that far in advance? If the swolphin F&W classic is a hit this year, I might want to plan the 2013 trip around that as well.

Victorian State school holidays in 2013 for that period seems to be from about 21 September and the kids are back in school on the 7 October.

I understand from Bobbi and Kitty that they are available in the 1st week in October. I'm hoping that this means that they are free from the 30th Sep (which is the Monday) for this week. I'd like to be there when they are available.

And DS is starting a different school next year; and they usually have a different holiday period to the state schools...I just need to find out whether they have their school calendar planned that far in advance or not. They normally have the same holiday period; but it may be different by a couple of days or a week.

Well, I'm going to have to give up something. Gay Days will be Oct 6-7, the F&W Classic will probably be the 12th & 13th, but the important thing we be being there when you, Unsnuz, Bobbi, & Dana are there. I don't really know Kitty, but it will be nice to meet her too.

I wish they would release the 2013 point charts soon.

I wish they would release the dates for the hotels as well. It would make it nice to start paying on it.

Hey Bobbi!

I just saw the tree thread on the DVC boards and I was wondering how that worked, without having to read the whole thread. I noticed that someone donates a tree, and there was a request for a donation to use the tree.

About how much does this cost to participate? I'm curious for our trip coming up in who knows when.

Thanks!

We've enjoyed a DVC tree in our room every year since 2003!

It's easy...during the summer there's a thread asking who intends to donate a tree and to which resort, and dates that you would want the tree. Then around September, anyone who wants to participate sends in their resort and dates. This year Mr Shiny did the matching.

What it costs, depends. We send the tree down, our cost, and we send down a gift for each family. One year another user of the tree e-mailed me and she wanted to also include gifts for everyone, and she also wanted to share the cost of shipping down.

People who get the tree are asked to donate for the return shipping. This may cost about $10 depending on where the tree is going and how many people use the tree. Sometimes people want to include a gift for the owner, or include extra ornaments for the tree.

You also have the expense of tipping bell services fo bringing, taking the tree.

It usually runs from sometime in November to the beginning of January.

It's a nice Disboard DVC tradition. I hope you chose to participate! We have two trees that we alternate sending down. We send one to VWL that's the one here now. Next year we'll send down the BWV tree. We stay at BWV for our NYE stay.

Bobbi:santa:

I'll chime in, late as it is. Happy New Year to all, and i'm looking forward to our meet next year!

Now there's a thread on the Cruise Meets board that deals with a Westbound Transatlantic cruise (2013)that's getting lots more play than this thread is. The funny thing is that that cruise hasn't been announced yet!:lmao: Now, how do I know? DH and I really want to do that cruise, and it should be sometime after this meet.

Thinking about late September/early October a lot these days.

Princess, your HKDisney trip is getting close!:yay:

The cruise that a lot of us are hoping to book is DCL Westbound Transatlantic. As of now, the Magic is in the Med., but doesn't have a scheduled return. DH & I and lots of others on the cruise board want to do that cruise!:goodvibes

I'm still trying to work on Fran for a Mexican Riviera Cruise next Thanksgiving.

Some day I would love to do a TA. Sounds like fun.

I'm still trying to work on Fran for a Mexican Riviera Cruise next Thanksgiving.

I got so excited, The same cruise we just came back from is a little cheaper around halloween. Oh I would love to do it again.

I hear alot of good things about Thanksgiving cruises. I would not have a problem staying on the ship for port days. Its called relaxing, reading, the hot tub. Maybe a massage. Taking pictures when no one was around. Sleeping.

I don't mind the idea of not doing shore excursions, the idea of having the boat to ourselves sounds good.

Next time if I visit a port that I have been to, I will stay on the ship and just relax. Of course I could do just sea days and no ports.
