Real Housewives of NJ--Official Thread

I don't know...but the more that I hear Caroline talk, the more she just seems like a lot of hot air. She barely let anyone on her side of the couch get a word in. And she's a collection of cliches: "we're as thick as thieves", "at the end of the day we'll be sitting at the table together", "I am so proud to be a Manzo". Please. She just likes to TALK, she loves being on the soap box. I don't like Danielle, don't get me wrong...I just think Caroline is a big wind bag.

At least we only had to endure the table flip once.

I also wondered why Dina and Jacqueline let Caroline speak for the family. She had a fake smile on her face and kept saying "we will survive" every other sentence. She was clearly angry that her FIL's murder would be discussed, when they put themselves in the spotlight with the show. She did the same thing to Danielle by exposing a book from 25 years ago. If she was so concerned about the grandchildren, then show the same concern for Danielle's children. You can't have it both ways:confused3

Teresa really put her foot in her mouth with defending her DH's gay comments. There is no defense for it and she should have just apologized like she did in the end. She is spoiled and doesn't understand why people might take offense to her comments. And just because her daughter likes to dance and perform doesn't mean she needs to make it a professional career at her age. We all know what "success stories" young stars like Lindsay and Britney have become.

I completely agree. I kept waiting for Danielle to ask how that was different from what they did to her...I'm surprised she didn't. Not that I want to defend the train wreck that is Danielle.

Teresa was a total airhead last night. I always liked her before. While I thought that she was a little out, with her French Chateau and onyx out the a$$, I really admire her 'cup half full' view of life. She thinks her kids are gorgeous and she thinks her husband is the bomb - even when no one else seems to see it. I found her to be a breath of fresh air. But after the last few episodes, the table flipping. What the hell is cleansiness? lol Now I just think she needs her meds checked.

I agree - on all counts..

And did anyone else notice that any question directed to Dina or Jacqueline is answered by Caroline?? (I'm assuming to be sure it's the "correct" answer..) At one point Danielle asked Jacqueline a question, Caroline jumped right in, and Danielle (politely) said, "Could you let Jacqueline answer that?" Nope - ain't gonna happen..

Something very fishy going on with the Caroline-controlled Manzo clan..

I have to defend Caroline for a moment here. I come from a similar type of family dynamic so I understand what she is really trying to say. Of course she goes off course and is not completely articulate about it. She's basically saying that at the end of the day friends come and go but blood is thicker than water. So just because cousin Mary made me so mad today that I vented to you as my friend, don't kid yourself into thinking that anything bad you say about my family will be taken kindly. Kind of like I can call my sibling a brat but you better not. Families always will have stronger and quieter people in it. Some are good spokespeople while others get tongue tied or nervous etc. That is probably why Caroline speaks for them. She is the oldest. She probably has always looked out for her younger siblings as that was probably her role growing up. I bet if you got my own family together you would see something similar with one or two of us speaking for the group.
I like Caroline. I think she loves her family and her gruffness is just her way of letting anyone know that no matter what they are always going to come first.

I have to disagree with this part.. On numerous occasions - throughout the shows, the reunion, etc. - Dina or Jacqueline (much more so Jacqueline) would actually open their mouths to respond or actually begin to respond - and Caroline would just "talk right over them".. Almost as if Jacqueline (in particular) is some kind of idiot who can't put two words together to give a response.. Caroline knows that Jacqueline will speak the "truth" - regardless of the "blood is thicker than water" mantra -and there are "truths" that she doesn't want revealed..

As for Dina, I think she relies on Caroline to speak for her whenever a question of substance is asked.. Either she doesn't "know" how to answer or is afraid she will give the "wrong" answer (as in revealing information that Caroline feels she shouldn't)..

I was raised in a large Italian family myself - and no one had to speak "for" us..

I still think there is more to this than meets the eye..;)

See now that happens all the time in my family. We don't think anyone is stupid. We just want to be heard.

Oh you mean the "yelling" over each other - especially at the dinner table? That I can relate to..:rotfl:

I totally agree. I also don't think she would have apologized had the mediator siad "Well I'm gay, and I was offended!" Had he not spoken up, I really think she would have dropped it as a "Well he said it, so get over it."

With that situation, I think there was wrong on both sides. Danielle started threatening him (Joe) immediately, rather than saying "Look, I have gy friends, and that comment offends me. Could you please not speak that way in front of me?" Instead of her weak attempt at cheekiness "I'll make you sing a pretty song. My knee is right there..." Then when she started with the "Don't tell me to shut up, I'm not your wife," stuff, it was no wonder that he was angry at her, and that Teresa would begin to be offended as well.

Both sides should have handled it better, but then we're only outside observers with the edit of the situation that Bravo gives us. So who knows what the full happening was besides the people who were there.

Caroline came off as utterly ridiculous. Her trying to act all badass just made me roll my eyes. Her feigned concern over the mob rumors and her beloved FIL "tiny" were over the top. I say the "lady" doth protests too much.

Oh - I so agree!! There's a lot more to that story and that family than what they are letting out..

On the other hand, one thing became pretty clear to me last night.. Now I know why Theresa is oblivious to the huge amounts of cash she and her husband have access to.. "People aren't very clenziness"??? And the "bubbies" thing when she was talking to her DH in the car - "What's it called? Pre-play?" Okay - not the "brightest bulb in the pack".. It explains a LOT.. :rotfl::rotfl:

Oh - and how many of you have considered having a "pole" installed in your bedroom? (Obviously you don't need to answer if you'd rather not..;) My jaw just about hit the floor when I heard that.. :rotfl::rotfl:)

According to what I've read over on the Bravotv.com blogs, while Dina and Caroline did "discover" the book. They were going to keep it under wraps and not discuss it on the show. They were only going to discuss it amongst themselves. It was revealed that Danielle was the one to bring it up on camera and let the cat out of the bag. It was only after Danielle did that did the other girls interview about it on the show.

I know that there was a bit on the show where Dina, Caroline and Theresa got together to discuss the book and how to approach Jacqueline about it. I think that was filmed after Danielle spilled the beans. Probably a reenactment of the actual event.

I don't know whose idea it was to talk about the book. It sounded like Dina and Caroline took it to the Chateau which spread the news to the town. From there it was bound to be on the show or discussed over the internet. Danielle was naive if she thought she could keep this a secret, but the other housewives didn't have to be the ones to spread the rumors. They could have said nothing and wait for it to hit the internet.

I didn't hear Danielle say a word about Dina and Caroline's FIL during the show. That was something that came out on its own as well as Teresa's family's suspicions. Why they had to address it during the reunion was beyond me, maybe they wanted to say something since there were rumors. Part II is supposed to show something Danielle said, but as far as the show episodes, I don't know what rumors Danielle spread about Dina.

What's wrong with a pole in the bedroom??? With the new bubbies, it's only the natural next step :rotfl2:

I read this on perez hilton, she was in court this morning....I never heard of this....until today....well, phone sex, tape and record your sex.....wonder how long before she is in playboy..or ..er...penthouse?

I think Hustler would be more appropriate.:rotfl:
