The Countess is losing her husband but keeping her title.


Countess LuAnn de Lesseps, one of the cast members on Bravo’s “The Real Housewives of New York,” has separated from Count Alexandre de Lesseps after 16 years of marriage.


The reality player’s publicist, Elizabeth Rosenthal, issued a statement Tuesday saying the couple “plan to remain friends and their primary focus will be to do what is best for their two children.”


The countess and count have a 15-year-old daughter, Victoria, and a 13-year-old son, Noel.


Rosenthal declined to comment on reports the breakup came after the former model learned her husband was having a relationship with another woman.


But the Countess will keep her title, says Rosenthal. Her etiquette book, “Class With the Countess,” arrives April 16.

I thought - and could be wrong - but if you MARRY a man with a title it's HIS title. Not one you can keep... I'll have to check on that. What ever will she do if she can't be calling "the countess?"...

Regarding LuAnn, I did not like the way she spoke to the girls. The one girl said she wanted to be a babysitter when she grew up. LuAnn actually laughed and said Oh, you're so funny or something like that. Well, you know, in the real world, some people actually work as babysitters--maybe that kid had a mom who works as a babysitter. I don't think she should have laughed. Also, what was the point of having her there at the club in the first place? To tell them, marry a count, get a title, and you'll have self-esteem? Really, laughing at the girls' future goals is not going to give them self-esteem.
That segment really bothered me for some reason. It was even more shameless self-promotion than usual, imo.

LouAnn is out of touch with so much - not as much as Kelly is out of touch - but from a social/economic standpoint and also as far as how to talk to kids... she doesn't really relate well with them. The whole "I'm a countess" thing... geez you think kids CARE?

I'm sorry I'm so late on the thread - could somebody tell me what happened to Kelly's MAX????? The foreign guy? Did he dump Kelly before she went with the guy who she had a smack-down with?

Also, I saw a photo of Bethanny somewhere recently with a very handsome young man on some island vacationing... good for you BF!

She's probably my favorite.

The show did a lot for her career (her book and her cooking). No one knew her before the show.

I'll be disappointed too, if Bethany doesn't return...she added great humor to the show. I am happy for her though, if everything is going so great for her! She's worked hard for it.

I think in July it as reported she was getting her own show and not coming back. But I found this recently and it seems like she'll be on next season.

Ramona cried after she got in a cat fight with the Countess. Countess was upset that Ramona's hubby called her Countless. Bethany had her new man and Jill was probably feeling left out and Bethany told her to get a hobby and Jill was insulted so they stopped speaking to each other. Countess and Bethany got in a cat fight. Alex stands on the side lines and watches. What's her name the model is trying to start over and be nicey nice.

I'm sad Bethenny and Jill are no longer friends (I was even hoping for some kind of later reconciliation in this season until I watched the After Show with Andy with Bethenny on). Honestly, it's what I enjoyed most about this cast is their funny conversations. I don't know just from last night's episode it didn't seem like there was any connection with any of them, it just seemed really forced.
