Ready or Not, Here We Come! **Updated/TR on Pg2**

Very nice pics and a wonderful report, :thumbsup2
Sounds like a great trip.

Dis I miss it, or have you not posted ya'lls "fishing" part of the report yet ?:confused3

Unfortunately, you did not miss it. We brought all the fishing gear with us but we stayed on the go too much. Next time we won't plan so many activities so we can enjoy the fort more. I'm hoping that will be sooner than later because I'm already ready to go back!

What great pictures of the Electric Parade!!! It sounds like you all had a great time!

Love the lime green Mickey ear bracelet!

Love the Water Pageant!

Love the pic of Wishes!

Love it! Love it! Love it!

I'm so glad you had a nice trip to the Fort! Great TR! :thumbsup2

Great Report :) I love all of your pictures!

A question - Did you say you upgraded GADs for $27 ? I thought WP&M was $50 ... I'm confused and curious as we have GADs, too;)

There is a Florida resident discount that we were eligible for also. If you don't qualify for that, I would say that it is still a good value to add this option to your GAD ticket if you are interested in the water parks or DQ.

Ohh, hugs to your DH for the fuse thing...that stinks! But, yeah to him being a good sport!

Our first "big" trip to Florida, the first day we got there the A/C went out, and then the microwave!!!! UGH!!!! But, thank goodness we were traveling with my parents and brother, so we had cool places to hang out until they got there to fix the A/C, and we just went to Wally World for a new microwave.

I am enjoying your TR! Looks like ya'll had a great time! :cool1:

Day Six (Thursday, July 1)

All Good Things Must Come to an End

It was time to pack it all up and head back home. It would have been nice to stay longer but at the same time we were missing our doggies that stayed behind with friends. They are much too big to bring camping and I doubt that I could keep them quiet anyway. They go bonkers for squirrels!

I helped DH put as much away as possible and then me and the kids took one more trip down to the beach. I had a balloon I wanted to release for a fellow DISer who lost his son this year. I had taken such great care of this balloon for several days, however, on our walk down to the beach my DD noticed that one of the ears was beginning to deflate. Oh my goodness! How did this happen? This did not set well with my type A (more like B+) personality. But, there was nothing that could be done about it now so all I could do was give it a try and see what happened. I walked down to the edge of the beach and let it go. There it went, slowly at first and in a zig zag pattern and then, when it got up high enough, it took off straight through the big puffy clouds until I couldn’t see it any longer. It made me think. Isn’t this how it is. We leave this earth a little wounded and worn and our path is not always straight but we can still soar off successfully into the great beyond. It was a good feeling.

My kids and I enjoyed the beach and dock one more time and then headed down to the Meadows Trading Post. My DD wanted to pick up a Fort Wilderness charm she had seen there. While there, I couldn’t resist buying them Mickey Mouse Ears ice cream. I watched in envy while they devoured it. Then, we waited for a bus and took it all the way to the outpost. I looked for our site while riding through and it was already occupied by another happy camper. That’s life! We met up with DH at the outpost and started for home. I quietly smiled as I read the back of the Welcome to Disney sign when we passed by it. It said See you Real Soon! I certainly hope so!

Maybe I'll see you there next time too! :wave2:

Great TR! What a lovely way to end your trip...by honoring another Dis-ers son. It brought a tear to my eye. Very nice. :thumbsup2

Love the balloon release. I know that Jeff received it. Thank you for sharing, and thanks for a great TR!

Wow!

What an outstanding trip report!

Bravo!

You all really did great for a bunch of newbies.

I give you an A+ for heading the WL for ice cream.

And that balloon release was a wonderful thing for you to do!

I was just looking at an old post of yours (I needed to find a map), where you were asking about where to find a Red Box near the Fort.

So, I have to ask:

How many videos did you all find time to watch at the Fort?

TCD

A great trip report to go with what sounded like a great trip. The balloon release was a great way to honor the life of a fellow diser's son. Thank you for sharing your experiences with us.

I really enjoyed your report! Thanks!
The balloon always makes me tear up... so sweet... and such a beautiful sight being lifted up into the clouds...

Thanks everyone! It has been fun to share the memories with my DIS friends/fiends.

TCD - Thanks for the info you so generously provided but no, we did not watch ANY videos and we did not miss that one bit. I was truly showing my newbie ignorance with that post! Plus, I had just come back from a very low key trip where the kids had been bored in the evenings - there is only so much Uno you can play sometimes.

What a wonderful thing to do for Jeff's memory, I am sure Dan appreciates it.
