13. the Martha’s Vineyard Beach and Book Club by Martha Hall Kelly. This book has a dual timeline between WW II and 2016. I really wanted to love this but found myself annoyed at times with one of the main characters and then the ending felt rushed. It was a quick read though.

“ The Guncle” by Steven Rowley. 4/5. A Gay uncle cares for his niece and nephew for a summer after their mother dies, and father goes into rehab.

12/25 The Whispers by Heidi Perks
Anna loves Girls’ Night with her friends. With the kids safely in bed, it’s a chance for the women to let loose, enjoy some wine, and just laugh. But after one lively evening, Anna doesn’t arrive for school drop-off the next morning—or the next, or the next.
Everyone, especially her husband and young son, are frantic with worry but none more so than Grace, her childhood best friend. Grace is certain that someone is hiding the truth about Anna’s unexplained disappearance. As rumors fly and accusations are whispered among neighbors, Grace decides to take matters into her own hands and find out what happened to Anna…or die trying.
Did not like this one. All the characters were annoying.

25/70. I was #50 something when I put “ The Correspondent “ by Virginia Evans on the hold list. So, I expected to like it more than I did. The “problem “ for me is its format, letters. Anyway, it grew on me, 4/5. The story of a 70 something woman who has written letters to people all of life. You learn a lot about her life, and I suppose I would like to have had her as a friend.

8/30 - A Deadly Affair - Agatha Christie

I picked this book up at the library because I wanted something lightweight for our trip to WDW. It was a series of short stories that had been initially published as magazine stories. I liked the format. It was nice to have a mystery wrapped up in a few pages.

#11 The Perfect Divorce by Jeneva Rose. I enjoyed this book. It is the sequel to The Perfect Marriage.

12/32 - The Magician's Nephew by C. S. Lewis

My son decided he wanted to read the Narnia series. I have never read the books, so I decided to read them with him. We started with the first book in chronological order. I really enjoyed it, and my son did too.

22/75 (I just realized I set my goal at 75 and then midway through on here I was using 70. Honestly neither is likely realistic at this point but I'll revert back to 75 since that's what I started at)
If it Makes You Happy by Julia Olivia. This is a fall into Christmas themed book in terms of the time of year and I had it on my hold list last fall but it just now became available. I decided to read it anyways. It was an easy fictional read that in my opinion had some unrealistic thoughts but it was cute nonetheless. And it did engage me, after about 50% I was anxious to get back to the book and find out what happened.
