Reading Thread/Goals for 2025

50/50 “Annie’s Recipe” by Lisa Jones Baker….is similar to the previous book, deciding to stay Amish or not.4/5

13/20 - Barbara Kingsolver, "Demon Copperhead" - 5/5
Started this one on audiobook (over 20 hours!) and finished reading it on my recent trip. Great book, but man does this kid go through some things. Just when you think it is as bad as it can get, you turn the page and, whelp, that got worse. I liked it though, great writing.

16. Summer land by Elin Hilderbrand. One of her older ones. It was good-not one of my faves. Not sure why, but it was mindless and what I needed.

Genre - Memoir

This is my book clubs pick for this month. I loved, loved, loved reading it!

30/30 - The Boys by Ron Howard and Clint Howard

I decided to read this book based on your positive review. I really enjoyed it, too. It looks like it was written during the pandemic, as so many books were.

21/25 - Tangled Up In Tinsel by Jessie Gussman
Local decorator takes last minute Christmas decoration job for wealthy client. Clients wealthier brother helps her and they instantly hit it off. Too short and romance too fast.

22/25 - An Evergreen Christmas by Cara Wilder
Wealthy divorcee is stranded in quaint town as she figures her next life plans. She meets local residents and helps the community with Thanksgiving and Christmas events. She develops a relationship with local lawyer and decides to stay. They have a hea. It was ok but a little too sickly sweet.

23/25 - Apple Pie and Trouble by Amber Crewes
Former actress moves to small town to open bakery near her retired friend. A local businessman is found dead and she is accused. Meghan digs for clues until she finds the true killer. She develops a relationship with local detective. It was ok.

#30 - The Last Sword Maker (first book in the Course of Empire series) by Brian Nelson
Genre - Thriller

This is a high paced thriller about a high tech arms race that actually could be a vision of the future of warfare. I give it a 4/5.
