Reid State Park. August 18, 2006- Go there once in your lifetime. The surf might be 56 degrees, but the the kids can explore the rocks, dig in the sand, find starfish and crabs and just frolick along the sea. We had a stupendous day with a gaggle of friends. Had this rocky section of the beach all to ourselves. We could have chosen a mile long stretch of sand, but prefer the rocks and tidal pool area as it is so much more fun to explore. Lobster boats, sailing yachts and birds abound. There was even a precious little seal who hung around and some fiesty fish jumped out of the water, silver glistening with the sun reflecting on their scales. It was breaktaking and utterly relaxing.....Go do something fun this weekend. Don't forget to live.

Beautiful pictures Horsey. I agree on the rocks vs. sand, rocks are more fun. We love tidal pools. So much fun to poke around and flip over the rocks to see what there is to see.

Saidly no tidal pools in Austin. We are land locked.

It was 105 yesterday in my backyard. I think we are a bit cooler today at 101.

When we first moved to Austin Max was three. We moved into our house in September. Around about May Max asked when it was going to be winter again. He wanted to build a snowman.

Okay, does anyone else do this? I just cleaned my WHOLE kitchen before I started dinner. You think I have sterility issues?

BTW, I have to WAIT to cook because my strainer is in the dishwasher. DH got home at 1. You think he could have run the dishwasher before 5?????

We are having eggplant parmesan if anyone is interested. BYOW. Or B. Whatever.

We could use some lettuce, too. I have everything else for the salad. And the garlic bread is being prepped as I type.

Thanks guys! Those were taken on our new CANON Powershot A620. This is an awesome camera! Extra zoom and super fast, so you can get pix of kids running in the water and birds flying by. Reasonably priced and downright super.....
